BBC Children in Need 2022💛

In honour of Remembrance Day., The children created poppies to plant and display in our setting.
The children have been developing their fine and gross motor skills by using scissors to cut pasta and spaghetti, as well as painting and colouring their poppies 🌹

We will be holding a Halloween party on Friday 21st October.
🎃The party will include fun games and entertainment.
🎃A Halloween Scavenger Hunt in the garden and lots of party food.
Dress Code: The spookier the better👻
LET'S GET SPOOKY! ☠

🍂Our children have been collecting natural materials and have used them for their learning. The children have used these materials to create artwork and have done some leaf painting, conker rolling in paint, hedgehogs and owls. We have also been talking about the changes in the environment and learning about the textures, colours, smell and the sounds they make! 🦉🦔

🙈🐯 World Animal Day 🐸🐷

The children have been learning about the different animals and where they live. They stated the animals' names, colours and the sounds they make. The children used words such as;
'spotty'
'Roar'
'Scary'
'Big'
'Orange'

The children will be baking cakes and cookies for the bake sale which will be on WEDNESDAY 28th September 2022.
So please don't forget to bring your pennies and help us raise money to show love and support to Macmillan Cancer Support.

🍂Autumn Treasure Collection Bags🍂
We are all set and ready to find our treasures and share them with one another and explore the natures of our outdoors. The children will gain experience of using natural resources for their play.

The children have settled into nursery well and have enjoyed exploring various activities. The children love mark making in the sand and using natural resources such as leaves, sticks and flowers to paint patterns and explore colours. The children made their own sensory playdough to create their self-portraits using natural materials. The children commented on the different textures, colours and size of the resources and experimented with them to create marks and prints. We have also been using our feelings board to discuss our emotions and feelings during circle time.

Please note our nursery will be closed for the official Bank Holiday on Monday 19th September to mourn her majesty's funeral.
Peekaboo Day Care will be closed and will re-open on Tuesday 20th of September.

We would like to welcome all our new and existing children and families to Peekaboo Day Care. We hope you all have had a fantastic summer holiday and are all excited to come back to nursery. We have a lot of fun activities in store so keep a look out for regular updates and reminders!
