Last Friday, Year 1 visited Astley Hall in Chorley and had a fantastic day. We explored the Great Hall and learned about how homes have changed over time. The children enjoyed looking at appliances from the 1700s and even had a go at washing clothes using a traditional washboard!
We also explored the beautiful walled gardens, where we discovered how plants were grown and used as medicine in the past. To finish our day, we enjoyed a picnic followed by a fun park trail.
It was a glorious day and thoroughly enjoyed by all!

☀️ Warm Weather Reminder for Tomorrow ☀️
Children should come to school wearing either their PE kit or a short-sleeved school shirt with skirts/shorts, depending on what is most comfortable in the warm weather.
Please remember to:
🧢 Bring a sun hat
🧴 Apply sun cream before school (children may also bring their own labelled sun cream to reapply during the day if needed)
💧 Bring a water bottle
We will do everything we can to keep the children cool, comfortable, and safe during the warm weather.
Thank you for your support! ☀️😊

This week in Maths, 2SFS have been busy learning all about working out change. To bring their learning to life, the children created their very own shops, taking turns to buy and sell items. They practised paying for items and carefully worked out the correct change from £1 💰. It was wonderful to see such great teamwork, problem-solving and confidence with money. 💸💳

1EMP really enjoyed taking part in a scavenger hunt as part of their Science learning this week. Using our senses, we explored the environment to find objects that could snap, were soft, had repeating patterns, or matched colours from the rainbow

Year 4 had the best day ever at Gulliver’s World last week! 🎢 Despite the rain, it was so lovely to see the pupils encouraging one another to be brave, face their fears and try lots of rides. We had so much fun and made some wonderful memories together 💛
Well done Year 4 for embracing the rainy weather, supporting each other and being absolutely fantastic throughout! A big thank you as well to our parent helpers for all their support on the day 😊

So proud of Year 3 last week! 👏
In computing, they’ve been learning how to create PowerPoint presentations with Mrs Rowlands. Last week, one pupil amazed us by bringing in a full maths lesson presentation they’d made at home — complete with a learning objective, starter, and three activities all about the 7x table!
Of course, we had to let them teach it… and they did brilliantly! The class followed along on squared paper, and they’ve even taken their work home to mark! 😄
What fantastic initiative and confidence — well done! 🌟
