Another week finished in Maple! This afternoon, Maple class have been doing some more AMAZING geography. We made messy maps of our local area using resources we found in the classroom. We made a key to represent the grass, football pitches, trees, buildings and even our school! They used superb vocabulary to describe the map and worked in brilliant teams. 🙂

Chestnut Class have been busy developing their geography skills! We enjoyed creating messy maps of our school and the surrounding roads, identifying both human and physical features. The children also learned how to use an aerial map and loved exploring our local area from a bird's-eye view. Fantastic work, Chestnut Class!

This week we in our 2/3 room we have been exploring families. We have shared family photographs and talked about who lives in our house.

What a brilliant morning Ladybirds have had!🥁

We took part in an African drumming session this morning and had a wonderful time exploring the different rhythms. There were lots of smiling faces and some very enthusiastic drumming!

Today, Maple class have been looking at counting in 5's, 10's and 2's! We did some clapping, dancing, skip counting and super moving to practice them. We did so amazing, that Mrs Alston challenged us to show our different times tables using manipulatives around the classroom. We the objects and put them in to groups of 2, 5 and 10 then we skip counted our groups! We are fantastic at Math! 🙂

Sycamore Class had the best time having a go at African drumming this afternoon. We did lots of call and response but most of all we loved making lots of noise!'
