Fridays are for fun... and for interesting facts! 🌟

🐐 Fun Fact Friday: Did you know that goats have rectangular pupils instead of round ones?

Their unusual eyes give them a wider field of vision, helping them spot predators and keep an eye on their surroundings while they graze. How amazing is that? 👀

🚒🔥 A Special Visitor at Nursery! 🔥🚒

We were delighted to welcome one of our parents into the setting to talk to the children about his job as a firefighter.

The children were fascinated to learn about the important role firefighters play in helping people and keeping communities safe. They enjoyed hearing about the equipment used, the different situations firefighters respond to and even got to try on some of the uniform!

Our children also learned about emergency safety and what to do if their clothes were ever to catch fire. They practiced remembering the three important steps:
➡️ Stop ➡️ Drop➡️ Roll
Learning these simple but important actions help our children understand how to keep themselves safe in an emergency.

A huge thank you to our parent for taking the time to share his experiences and inspire the children. We love providing opportunities for our little learners to learn about the world around them🌟

During mealtimes at Cairellot, our children get the opportunity to develop important social skills in our relaxing cafe environment.

While enjoying their time in the cafe, our children learn to:

⭐Children take turns in conversations with others.
⭐Children listen to and respect each others ideas.
⭐Children use good manners, saying "please" and "thank you".
⭐Build friendships by communicating and sharing experiences.
⭐Develop independence by self serving where appropriate and making healthy choices.
⭐Have the opportunity to gain confidence in trying various foods alongside their peers.

Sharing meals help create a sense of belonging and encourages positive relationships, making mealtimes an important part of every child's learning and development.

Our children are always keen to take responsibility and help care for their environment!

After finishing their play, they eagerly took turns sweeping up the sand and making sure the space was ready for everyone to use again. A great example of teamwork, independence and looking after our nursery together. Great job! 👏

The children have been enjoying some yoga and trying out lots of different poses! 🧘

They stretched, balanced and carefully moved their bodies into each position, concentrating as they copied the poses and held them steady. It was a lovely way to support their balance, coordination and body awareness while enjoying a calm moment together 🥰

The children had lots of fun showing off their impressive jumps from the tyres and seeing who could jump the highest!

They balanced carefully, chose where they wanted to jump from and practiced landing safely on their feet. There was plenty of excitement as they challenged themselves, built their confidence and encouraged one another to have a go! 🙌

The children have been exploring measurement by finding out how many wooden blocks tall they are!

After lying down and drawing around their height, they carefully placed blocks along the outline and counted how many they had used. They then added their findings to the floorbook, collecting everyone’s results and comparing the numbers together.

This led to lots of discussion about which numbers were higher or lower, who used more or fewer blocks and the different ways we can measure 📏

Our first carrot! 🥕 It might be small, round and a little unusual-looking, but we were still very excited to harvest it from our garden!😂

After giving it a good wash, we offered it to our pet snail, Gary, who gave it his seal of approval! 🐌 We’ve also been growing tomatoes and can’t wait to see how they turn out 🍅🌱
