🌱 Why is messy play so important for young children? 🌱

Messy play might look like “just making a mess” — but there’s so much learning happening underneath! 💚

When children explore sand, water, paint, foam, playdough and other sensory materials, they are developing important skills including:

🖐️ Fine motor skills – squeezing, scooping, pouring and moulding help strengthen little hands and fingers.

🧠 Problem-solving – children experiment, make predictions and discover what happens when they mix, move or change materials.

👀 Sensory development – exploring different textures, smells, sounds and temperatures helps children understand the world around them.

💬 Language development – sensory play provides wonderful opportunities to introduce new words and encourage children to describe what they can see, feel and do.

❤️ Confidence and independence – children can make choices, try things out and learn at their own pace.

🩵Until we see you again! 🩵

Last week we said a very special goodbye to our wonderful Manager Lydia, as she heads off on maternity leave to begin the most exciting chapter yet! 🍼✨

You are such a huge part of our nursery family, and we’re definitely going to miss your support, kindness and all the little things you do to keep our nursery running smoothly. 🥰

While we’ll miss having you with us, we’re so excited for you to enjoy those precious newborn cuddles, sleepless nights 😴😂 and all the beautiful moments that come with becoming a mummy!

And of course a big goodbye to our nursery dog Mabel as she goes on maternity leave with her mummy Lydia! The rascals are going to miss her so much but we know a year will fly by! 🐾

We can’t wait to see you soon and meet your beautiful baby boy!💙

Lots of love from your nursery family! 💚🧸
