A huge congratulations to Miss Beales, who recently completed a 50km ultra challenge through the Peak District to raise money for our school! 🎉👏
This was an incredible achievement that took huge amounts of determination, resilience and strength. We are so proud of her for taking on such a demanding challenge and helping to support our school community at the same time. 💙

Warm weather update

The Met Office has issued an Amber Weather Warning, with very high temperatures expected this week. In line with DfE guidance, school will remain open as normal.

To help children stay cool and comfortable, they may attend school in their PE kit or school uniform, what ever they are most comfortable in (this is not a non-uniform week). For UKS2 children wearing uniform, ties do not need to be worn.

Please ensure your child comes to school each day with:
💧 A named water bottle
🧢 A sun hat
🧴 Suncream applied before arriving at school

The children are permitted to bring in hand-held battery operated fans but they must have secure battery compartments and be fitted with a finger- safe grille. However, these will not be permitted outside. Please ensure all items are named. The school will not take responsibility for any lost or broken items.

To ensure children are kept as cool as possible, we will be taking safety measures including keeping blinds pulled throughout the day, ensuring rooms are kept ventilated and encouraging regular drinks. We will also be adapting the school day as needed, including making use of shaded areas, shortening outdoor time at lunch and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities.

We were thrilled to welcome Paralympian Laura Sugar to school today.
Laura shared her inspiring journey to becoming a double Paralympic gold medallist, highlighting the importance of resilience, perseverance and embracing life’s ups and downs. Her message encouraged children to keep going through challenges and believe in their potential.

💛 A truly special moment for our EYFS children this week 💛
On Thursday, some of our Nursery and Reception children visited Lisbeth at her local care home to celebrate an incredible milestone — her 105th birthday! 🎉
Born in 1921, Lisbeth’s care home hoped she would receive 105 birthday cards… and our Northgate children amazed everyone by sending an incredible 160 cards! 💌
The children were wonderful with Lisbeth, who was deeply moved to meet them. They sang “Happy Birthday” together, creating a heartwarming memory for everyone involved. 🎶✨
Happy 105th Birthday, Lisbeth! We send you our warmest congratulations and very best wishes. ❤️

🎡⚙️ Year 6 DT , Science and Computing – Victorian Fairground Project 💻✨

Our Year 6 pupils designed and built motorised Victorian-style fairground rides, applying their science learning on electricity to create working circuits that powered their models ⚡🔋

They then used a crumble kit to programme movement and bring their creations to life! 🎠

A fantastic blend of history, engineering, science and coding — we’re so proud of their creativity and teamwork! 👏✨

🦉✨ Amazing Animal Encounters! ✨🐍

What an incredible morning our children had discovering fascinating facts about all kinds of creatures — from birds and mammals to reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates!

They got up close to spiders and snakes, observed their amazing features, and even had the chance to hold some of them! 🌿

There was so much excitement and curiosity as we explored how different colours, shapes, and special adaptations help animals survive in the wild. 🐸🦋
