I am a qualified childminder and primary school teacher with 17 years teaching experience. I decided on becoming a childminder and leave my teaching career in order to look after my own children, as well as providing a fun, safe, loving home away from home for someone else child. As a qualified teacher, with so many years of experience, I have a very good understanding of how children develop phys
ically, mentally and emotionally and that they do so uniquely. I therefore try to create an environment that allows children to develop at their own speed and where they can reach their full potential, while being stimulated, creative and happy. I am trying to make there learning and development exciting in the activities we do and the places we go. We regularly visit playgroups, where they interact with other children and adults. We also visit the park, the forest, the zoo, local library and activities provided by the children centre. As well as all my teaching qualifications I have just completed the CYPOP 5 course in home based childcare and safeguarding training. I am registered with Ofsted and have an enhanced CRB disclosure. I also have a paediatric first aid diploma. I would say that I’m very aware how hard it is for mums to go back to work and leave there children, as I had to do it myself with my eldest. That’s why I make sure that I communicate with parents and reassure them that there children are well looked after and loved and most of all...HAVE FUN !! I am available to care for children on full or part time bases. Fees will be discussed with individual families.
