🇫🇷 Year 8 in Normandy 🇫🇷

Year 8 students enjoyed an incredible week in Normandy, combining language learning, culture and history.

Highlights included visiting Mont Saint-Michel, exploring the market in Dinan, and putting their French skills into practice when buying lunch from local stallholders. Students also visited Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, taking time to reflect on the impact of World War Two.

A fantastic trip filled with new experiences, growing confidence and lasting memories.

As part of Diversity Week, students and staff came together to celebrate Cultural Dress Day, proudly sharing traditions, heritage and identities from around the world. From vibrant colours to meaningful attire, it was wonderful to see our community embracing and celebrating what makes us unique.

At Hockerill, diversity is one of our greatest strengths. By being open-minded, caring and respectful, we continue to learn from one another and create a truly inclusive environment for all.

🧬🏆 Huge congratulations to our Year 10 biologists on their fantastic results in the UK Biology Challenge 2026!

All 16 Hockerill students who took part achieved an award, earning 3 Bronze, 5 Silver and 2 Gold certificates. A special well done to Ananya Bhardwaj and Sammy Lo, whose Gold Awards place them in the top 5% of over 42,000 entrants nationwide. 🌟

We are incredibly proud of their hard work, curiosity and commitment to biology.
