It’s been a brilliant day!!! 😃 An outdoor public event in Colchester where we were joined by two absolutely wonderful groups of wildlife fans… thank you to Casper for buying me a present!!! A little lizard toy, who will sit proudly on the dashboard of the Grenadier to show us the way ☺️ And to Hannah for buying me a Care Bear (the one I liked when I was little… I knew I shouldn’t have told her that!!! 🤣).

Then on to a lovely family for their daughter’s 3rd birthday ☺️ I can’t wait to be back in five weeks time to do a party for her big brother!!!

Crackin day!!! 🙌🏻😊

YES!!!!! It’s been long awaited, and we can’t wait to embark on working with secondary schools, not just as part of the biology curriculum as we do now, but Natural History will have its own stand-alone GCSE!!! 😃🙌🏻

The course will be available from September 2028, and we will be at the forefront, bringing another practical hands-on aspect to what will be a fascinating and practical course. More details will be coming shortly about what we will be offering to secondary schools that will be offering the Natural History GCSE ☺️

WOW, I’ve never seen such a mammoth hedgehog!!! 😃 My foot in comparison… I reckon that if I hadn’t seen him, I’d have tripped over him… or broken my foot?! 😂 It looks like he’s getting lots to eat around our base ☺️

Wildlife rescue often unfortunately ends tragically, but we have to look on the brighter side or we’d just find it too tough. We had a call early this evening to reports of an injured young fox. She had disappeared when we arrived but then we had a call from a lady walking her dog, reporting a chronically injured fox close to the location of the first report. Unfortunately the fox was in a desperate state with horrendous injuries, probably from a collision with a car. She would not have made the journey to the Essex Wildlife Hospital, so the kindest outcome would be for her to be put to sleep as soon as possible. Unfortunately she died before a vet could put her to sleep. So we laid her to rest by a hedgerow in the beautiful countryside where we are based, where she will provide nutrients to the ecosystem; she has been returned back to nature.

Going by the rainbow that appeared as we left her, I think she approves 🥹

The phone rings… a friend has and intruder!!! 😱 Britain’s largest carnivor had been investigating a little too enthusiastically and had wondered in and become stuck behind a sofa 😅 Badgers are one of my favourite animals, but definitely not one to be handled!!! They’re rock solid, with a very potent set of gnashers!!!

Being just up the road from our premises, I knew that there is a badger sett not 50 yards from my friend’s place. It was just a case of showing Mr Badger how to get out so he could find his way home. It took a few attempts but… MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! 🙌🏻😊

A friend is in the office with me while I work on admin tonight, and after a conversation about the filming projects I’m currently working on, he just jokingly said “You should have an action figure made Ben” 🤣

I’ve only used ChatGPT once before, so thought I’d pop a couple of pics into the app. To be fair, I’m pretty chuffed with what it came out with!!! 😅 It got the truck spot on as a Grenadier, not like some AI pics I’ve seen online. I think Ice has forgiven his slightly shorter legs and I’m not sure where the bulldog came from, that’s Hannah’s bag in the reference pic 😂 But overall, I could be persuaded if the right “merch” deal came along?! 😂😂😂
