The letter “y” can be confusing, especially when it’s at the end of the word- particularly in some of your names as it then makes an “ee” sound.

For now, please focus on finding the “y” sound rather than the letter name “why”!

This sound is pronounced by saying a /ck/ and a /s/ sound together “cks”

It can be tricky to find objects beginning with the ‘x’ sound as it often makes a ‘z’ sound when at the start of a word E.g. xylophone. So you may want to try and find an object with the ‘x’ sound at the end.

I will be there before, during and after class to answer any of your questions regarding classes.
