Know someone getting their A Level or GCSE results soon? Here are some tips you can share to help them navigate the day:

- Talk to someone you trust. Having support around you can make a big difference.
- Results day can bring lots of emotions, so give yourself time to process them.
- Don’t rush your next steps. Take time to explore your options and decide what feels right for you.
- Try not to compare yourself to others, as everyone’s journey is different.

Remind them that whatever happens, there are people who can support them.

Building on a previous post from earlier today. Yes reading is fantastic but the use of audiobooks is definitely a valuable tool and for many learners it is the key to unlocking the richness and depth of language that some of these texts provide. I would heavily suggest considering it for reluctant young readers. Whatever it takes to allow your child to enjoy these wonderful books.

For current year 4 going into year 5 parents. Here is a reading list recommended for developing the comprehension skills needed in the new 11 plus test. It’s aimed at specifically year 5. There are some lovely books on that list. My favourite is Tom’s Midnight Garden!

This week I’ve said goodbye to students I’ve had for 6, 7 and 9 years. It’s been fantastic to watch them grow not only in their academic abilities but their confidence too. There’s been ups and downs especially with the Covid years but they have worked so hard and deserve every success in their futures. Time to say goodbye.
