If your child will turn 5 between the 1st September 2024 and 31st August 2025, you can apply for a school place using the link below.

You can now apply for a school place for September 2024.

The closing date for secondary school applications is midnight on 31 October 2023.

The closing date for primary applications (those children who will be turning 5 on or between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025) and junior school applications is midnight on 15 January 2024.

The Story Train team are offering a free holiday club each Wednesday for children in the Durham Dales. 📚

***Announcing The Railway Children Holiday Club this summer for 7 - 11 years in Weardale***

Each Wednesday from July 26th to August 30th (11.30 - 1pm) The Story Train team will be running a holiday club with a free healthy lunch for Years 3 to 6, (aged 7 - 11 year olds) for primary school pupils in Weardale (Witton le Wear, Frosterley, Wolsingham, Stanhope Barrington, St John Chapel, Wearhead and Rookhope).

There are limited spaces which are offered on a first come, first served basis. The holiday club is a drop off holiday club due to limited spaces on The Story Train. To sign up, please visit this link: https://forms.gle/pGi8DYxugKCsP4pR8

The children in KS2 have been writing as one of the characters in our class text, Freedom.

The children in year 6 have been working on a bakery project in Maths. They had to scale up the recipe to make 30 cakes, decide how to decorate them, workout the price to make them and which shop would be cheapest to buy the ingredients from. They have made packaging, using their knowledge of 3D shapes.

This afternoon, we have been to Fellside Alpacas. We had a great time, we met the the newest cria (who had just been born this morning), did some poo picking, made poo bricks and fed the alpacas. We learnt all about sustainable fuel, which was really interesting.
