🧺 Day 30 of : Have a Picnic! 🌿✨
It’s the last day of our challenge — and what better way to finish than with a picnic outdoors.
Whether it’s in the garden, at the park, on a blanket in the nursery garden, or even an indoor picnic if the weather turns, today is all about enjoying food, fresh air and time together.

🥪 Have a Wild Picnic
Bring along:
🍓 Fruit
🥪 Sandwiches
🧃 Drinks
🍪 A little treat
🧺 A blanket
Then enjoy:
🌼 Sitting together
👀 Watching the clouds
🐦 Spotting birds
🌿 Listening to nature
😄 Sharing food and smiles
For babies:
A cosy blanket, soft snacks and lots to look at.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Let them help choose the food, set up the picnic spot and notice what’s happening around them.
A simple, joyful way to celebrate the end of a wild month.

💬 What Did You Enjoy Most?
We would love to hear which activities were your favourites throughout the challenge.
Did you enjoy:
🔭 Making binoculars
🐞 Building bug hotels
🌸 Pressing petals
📸 Taking wild photos
📚 Reading in the grass
💦 Giving wildlife a drink
🌳 Forest bathing
🎨 Nature art
👣 Sensory walks
Please do let us know — your feedback helps us plan even more wild fun for the future.

Thank you for joining us on this wonderful month of nature, curiosity and adventure. 🌈🍃

🌳 Day 29 of : Build Big… or Try Forest Bathing! 🌿✨
Today’s wild challenge is all about bringing everything together or slowing everything down. Choose one activity or enjoy both with your little explorer.

🧱 Option 1: Build Big — Create a Wild Display!
It’s time to gather all your wonderful creations and put them together.
You could include:
📸 Photos from your wild adventures
🎨 Nature art and crafts
🍃 Pressed petals
🔭 Homemade binoculars
📔 Nature journal pages
🐞 Bug hotel pictures
🌼 Daisy chains
🌱 Seed‑growing progress
Create a display at home — or bring your projects into nursery so we can build a big, beautiful showcase of everyone’s wild month.
For babies:
Let them look, point and explore the textures of safe items.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Encourage them to choose what to include and help arrange the display.
A lovely way to celebrate everything they’ve discovered.

🌲 Option 2: Try Forest Bathing
Forest bathing is simply the art of being calm and quiet among the trees — noticing the sounds, smells and feelings of nature.
Try:
👂 Listening to rustling leaves
🌬 Feeling the breeze
👀 Watching branches sway
🌳 Sitting quietly under a tree
🫁 Taking slow, deep breaths
For babies:
Lie on a blanket and let them watch the movement of leaves above.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Encourage them to slow down, look up, and notice tiny details — “What can you hear?”, “What colours can you see?”
A peaceful way to reset and reconnect.

Whichever activity you choose today, enjoy a moment of calm or creativity as we near the end of our wild month. 🌈🍃

🐾 Day 28 of : Move Like an Animal… or Enter Our Nature Art Competition! 🎨🌿
It’s Sunday — the perfect day for a bit of wild movement or some creative magic at home. Choose one activity or enjoy both with your little explorer!

🐒 Option 1: Move Like an Animal
A brilliant way to get little bodies moving and imaginations flowing.
Try moving like:
🦁 A lion — big stomps and roars
🐇 A rabbit — little hops
🦋 A butterfly — gentle fluttering arms
🐍 A snake — slithering along the floor
🐦 A bird — flapping wings and swooping
For babies:
Gently copy animal movements with their arms and legs, or make simple animal sounds.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Let them choose the animals and lead the game — even if they invent their own creatures.
A fun way to build coordination, confidence and creativity.

🎨 Option 2: Hold an Art Competition!
Create a piece of nature‑inspired art at home today — then bring it into nursery next week.
We would love to see what your child creates.
Ideas include:
🍃 Leaf or flower collages
🖍 Drawings of animals or insects
🌳 Paintings of trees, clouds or gardens
📸 A decorated photo from Day 27
🪵 Nature rubbings or patterns
And who knows…
✨ There might even be something special for a winner! ✨
For babies:
Simple mark‑making, exploring textures or adding safe natural items with your help.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Encourage them to talk about what they’ve made and what inspired them.

Whether you’re moving wildly or creating something wonderful, enjoy a playful Sunday with nature. 🌈🍃

📸 Day 27 of : Snap a Wild Photo… or Make a Nature Journal! 🌿✨
Today’s wild challenge is all about noticing nature and recording the magic you find outdoors. Choose one activity or enjoy both with your little explorer!

📸 Option 1: Snap a Wild Photo
A simple, joyful way to slow down and look closely at the world around you.
Try taking photos of:
🌼 A bright flower
🐞 A tiny bug
🌳 A favourite tree
☁️ Interesting clouds
🪵 Patterns in bark or leaves
For babies:
Hold them close and show them what you’re photographing — “Look, a flower!”, “See the bird!”
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Let them choose what to photograph.
Encourage them to get low, look up, zoom in and explore different angles.
A lovely way to build observation skills and curiosity.

📔 Option 2: Make a Nature Journal
A gentle, creative activity that helps children record their wild discoveries.
Your journal could include:
🖍 Drawings of things you’ve seen
🍃 Stuck‑in leaves or petals
📸 Printed photos
📝 Simple notes or marks
🎨 Rubbings of bark or leaves
For babies:
Let them make marks, explore textures or add safe natural items with your help.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Encourage them to draw what they saw, describe colours, or tell you a short sentence to write down.
A beautiful keepsake to look back on at the end of the month.

Whichever activity you choose today, enjoy capturing the wild world in your own special way. 🌈🍃

🎨 Day 26 of : Arts & Crafts with Nature… or Press Petals! 🌿🌸
Today’s wild challenge is all about creativity and noticing the tiny details in the natural world. Choose one activity or enjoy both with your little explorer!

🍃 Option 1: Arts & Crafts with Nature
A beautiful way to use natural materials to inspire creativity.
Collect items such as:
🍂 Leaves
🌼 Flowers
🪵 Sticks
🪨 Pebbles
🌾 Grass or seed heads
Then create:
🎨 Leaf rubbings
🖼 Nature collages
🌀 Stick shapes and patterns
🌿 Leaf crowns or bracelets
For babies:
Let them explore textures safely — smooth leaves, soft petals, bumpy bark.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Encourage them to arrange, sort, stick and design their own nature artwork.
A wonderful way to build fine motor skills and imagination.

🌸 Option 2: Press Petals
A gentle, calming activity that creates beautiful keepsakes.
Try:
🌼 Picking fallen petals or flowers
📚 Placing them between sheets of paper
📘 Pressing them inside a heavy book
⏳ Leaving them to dry and flatten
You can use pressed petals to make:
💌 Cards
🎨 Bookmarks
🖼 Mini framed art
For babies:
Let them look at the colours and shapes while you handle the petals.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Talk about how petals change as they dry — “flat”, “crispy”, “lighter”.
A lovely way to slow down and appreciate nature’s tiny details.

Whichever activity you choose today, enjoy a moment of creativity and calm in the wild. 🌈🍃

💧 Day 25 of : Give Wildlife a Drink… and Read a Book in the Grass! 🌿📚
Today’s wild challenge brings back two favourites — and we’re hoping for a lovely dry day so all our children at nursery can enjoy them outdoors.

💦 Give Wildlife a Drink
A simple act of kindness that makes a big difference.
We’ll be putting out shallow dishes of water in our outdoor area to help:
🐦 Birds
🐝 Bees
🦋 Butterflies
🐌 Snails
Children can help by:
🪣 Pouring water carefully
🪵 Adding a pebble or stick for insects to rest on
👀 Watching to see who visits
A lovely way to teach care and responsibility.

📚 Read a Book in the Grass
We’re making sure every child attending nursery today gets the chance to enjoy this one.
We’ll find a cosy spot outdoors, spread out the blankets and share some favourite stories surrounded by nature.
For babies:
Soft books, pointing to pictures, feeling the breeze.
For toddlers & preschoolers:
Listening, joining in, spotting things in nature that match the story.
A calm, joyful moment in the fresh air.

Fingers crossed for sunshine — but whatever the weather brings, we’ll make it a wild and wonderful day. 🌈🍃
