A different view from above 📸

We’ve been out capturing drone footage, showing spaces from a fresh angle and giving a proper sense of scale.

Perfect for businesses, venues, schools and outdoor spaces that want to show more than a standard photo can.

Everything looks better from above, doesn’t it?

School days can be very busy, some moments will feel loud, and some children just need a simple way to pause and reset.

We’ve created our own Classroom Cards that are designed to give the class quick, gen-tle prompts that can be used when they feel overwhelmed, distracted or when they might just need a bit of breathing space.

Use them:
🌿 during quiet time
🌿 after playtime or lunch
🌿 before a tricky task
🌿 when emotions feel big
🌿 as part of a calm corner or wellbeing area

Each card gives a small, simple action, such as taking slow breaths, noticing things around them, stretching, drawing, or choosing a positive thought.

These cards could take away the pressure and fuss of a busy classroom. Moments of calm can make the day feel a little easier for Pupils, Teachers and TA’s

Download the Classroom Calm Cards from our website and keep them ready for those moments when a reset is needed. https://northeastschools.co.uk/resources/

Try them and let us know how they've worked for you.

What's your go to is when the classroom feels a bit loud? 👇

☄️ Incoming… International Asteroid Day is next week, it’s happening on 30th June!

It’s a brilliant opportunity to get children curious about space, science, problem-solving and how we protect our planet.

🔍Here’s something fun to try with the class🔍
Search “International Asteroid Day” on Google and watch the screen carefully… You might just spot an asteroid flying across it 👀
Search effects can sometimes vary by device, so it’s worth testing first!

It’s a great little conversation starter for school or home. And here are some more questions to discuss with your class:
☄️ What actually is an asteroid?
🌕 If your class had a space mission, what would you explore first?
🔭 How do scientists watch and learn about objects in space?
🚀 If you discovered a new asteroid, what would you name it?

To help bring the topic to life, we’ve put together a fun Asteroid Alert activity idea where children can design their own asteroid, name it, track it and decide how they would protect Planet Earth.

A small space rock. A big learning opportunity.

Would your class take on the asteroid mission?

Clean Air Day is this week, and we've created some mini challenges to spend more times outside 🍃

On 18th June, Clean Air Day will bring people together to help recognise the impact of pollution. Our mini challenges are just a simple way to get involved and help with the education around clean air. There are benefits to children spending time outdoors too. It can support focus, mood and digital wellbeing, even just in small doses.

Try one of our mini challenges:
🌼 spot 3 signs of summer
🎨 draw something you see outside
🔎 go on a colour hunt
📚 read outside

Although these are only small ways to appreciate the world around us, they don't take long and you can extend each challenge to be as long as you like, include them in your lessons, or use them as a break with education on Clean Air and Pollution.️

Which one would your class or child enjoy most?

You can find more of our challenges and resources on our website.

Child Safety Week is this week, and it’s a good reminder that safety conversations don’t always need to be big or scary 💛

Sometimes the most useful conversations are the small ones children can understand:
🟡 What should you do if something online feels wrong?
🟡 Who can you speak to if you’re unsure?
🟡 What does “safe” look like at school, at home, and online?
🟡 When is it okay to ask for help?

Small conversations can build big confidence over time.

Which safety topic feels most important for children right now 👉 online safety, road safety, playground safety, or home safety?

Maybe you have another topic in mind that’s more important. Share your thoughts in the comments 😊

Screen-free ideas to use this half term 📵
It doesn’t need to be a full day without screens, even short breaks can make a difference.
Here are a few simple ideas that work:
🎨 Create something
• draw a spring scene
• design your own game
• build something from what you have
🏃 Get moving
• obstacle course
• 10-minute dance challenge
• ‘follow the leader’ games
🌿 Get outside
• go on a colour hunt
• spot signs of spring
• draw something you see
💛 Slow things down
• read for 10 minutes
• quiet drawing
• share one good thing about your day

Save this for later or share with parents

Navigating emotions can be pretty tough sometimes but helping children understand them doesn’t always need big conversations.

Often it’s small moments like:
• naming feelings
• modelling calm responses
• giving space before reacting
Those small things build confidence over time.

If you still haven’t quite got round to that idea of a Spring Clean… don’t worry, you’re not alone 😅

You don’t need to always do a full classroom reset, but small adjustments can make the day run more smoothly.
A few simple changes that can help:
• clearing one busy area
• making key resources easier to reach
• simplifying routines that feel overcomplicated

If you haven’t seen it yet, we have a checklist ready to print on our website. Print one out for yourself or other Teachers and TAs who might need a little helping hand for classroom organisation.

What’s one small change that’s helped your classroom recently?
