Ive been harbouring a creative secret… Early this year I was a contestant on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year (again). My heat will be aired on 9th Nov on Sky. I cant tell you stuff like, who I painted and how I did… guess you will have to watch it (or not!) This was my portrait submission on the show (I had to enter a self portrait) the judges discuss it… god knows what they had to say about it 🤔🙃🤓. I also had to paint a portrait of a celebrity in 4HOURS!!

Anyway it was actually a really beautiful experience and the people I met where truly lovely. My big bro and were in the audience so that was supportive too!

Ive just popped into the school where my primary portrait project is exhibited in the reception area (i painted a portrait of a child from each year group)… they have added the slogan and some info and quite frankly it looks so gorgeous! I am now working closely with the school to create a portrait legacy and build up their knowledge and skills in art and portraiture… dont ya just love working with an open minded school!

Leanne here… Like many of us I am addicted to watching the news, i feel devastated for the Ukrainian people, I hate that they are having to go through this. I feel frustrated that I can’t directly help. I can however make art, so I have decided to sell this portrait and donate all of the proceeds to aid the Ukrainian people. It is an original oil painting on canvas, 50 x 60cm £250.

PLEASE READ THIS... ITS REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME!

I have launched a crowdfunding project which will enable me to gift all my breastfeeding portraits to hospitals. The aim is to help normalise and celebrate breastfeeding by displaying the art on a long term basis in the most appropriate locations. 13 venues will receive 1 portrait each.

To make this project happen I need to raise some cash, which I will use to get the artwork safely to each hospital. THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!

Hope you are all well in this madness? We truly miss you guys!

I have a big ask...

As some of you know I am artist and over the last 6 years or so I have been channeling my creative efforts in to producing Portraits with Purpose, with my exhibition breastfeed. This is a collection of supersized portraits of mothers breastfeeding their babies and children. It has been exhibited in various venues around the country including at Thought Foundation… can you remember it?

Anyway I decided it would be beneficial to get all the breastfeed portraits exhibited on a full time basis at venues where they can make an impact. Recently I asked people to nominated their preferred venue, like hospitals, community spaces, schools, etc. I received nearly 800 nominations… amazing! I rounded up a committee of super humans to help me decide the final 13 venues (each to receive one painting). As of today I have set up a crowdfunder to enable me to get those portraits to each venue.

I am seeking support from our TF community to help me to make a positive impact on breastfeeding, make it more common place, normalise and celebrate it even! When you pledge there are lots of gifts to receive in exchange including my book and prints of the artwork too.

We endeavored to support breastfeeding families at Thought Foundation and I want to continue to do this through my art too.
