Goodway Nursery School

The Caterpillars arrived in nursery school,we were all really excited.They arrived in one large pot, so we had to put each caterpillar into an individual pot with some food. We had special tools for this job.

We can’t wait to watch them grow as they eat their food. When they are big enough and they have built a small cocoon around themselves they will hang from the lid of the small pot.

We will then transferr them to the butterfly net attaching the lids to the side of the net and we will watch as they emerge as beautiful butterflies 🦋.
We will need to cut some flowers for the butterflies to feed from and make a solution of sugar water.

When they have all emerged from their cocoons we can carefully let them out of the net and release them into the outdoors.

Dear parents and carers

A gentle reminder, we will be closed next week for half term holiday.
Nursery school will re-open at normal time on Monday 1st June.
Before and after school bookings will close at lunchtime today for the week 1st June,
please ensure you book any sessions required.

Now that the weather is warmer, please could you put sun cream on your child before they come to nursery, ideally the once a day kind, and also bring a sun hat for them to wear when they play outside.

Please also send in a bottle of sun cream with your child’s name on, so that we can help them to apply additional sunscreen through the day.

We will remind children to wear their sun hats and drink plenty of water and will encourage children to play in the shade where possible.

Today is an exciting day for many families as reception school places have been announced for children who will be starting reception class in September.

When you have received your child’s school offer, can you inform keyworkers so we can begin the important work of sharing information to aid your child’s transition.

We are so proud of all our children and can’t wait to celebrate this next big step with you.
