MGJS Weekly Blog 13.03.26 Welcome to our weekly blog!

A huge thank you to all of our families for making another World Book Day so special at MGJS. All classes enjoyed the planned activities, including creating wonderful artwork in the style of our whole-school book Always Remember: The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. Staff were so impressed by the effort from children who were dressed in role as their favourite book characters.

A huge congratulations and to our 12 'Best Dressed' and 12 'Reading in an Unusual Place' competition winners, who all went home with a certificate and a prize. A special thank you to all 72 pupils who took part in the competition too. All entrants received a prize!

As usual, Mrs Jackson helped the children to have a wonderful World Book Day that they will remember. A huge thank you to her for helping those who brought in books from home to swap as part of our Book Swap.

We are delighted to share that we have won the Smart Money Award following the Year 5 workshop delivered in partnership with HSBC.

The HSBC workshop was a valuable and engaging session for our Year 5 pupils, focusing on budgeting, managing money responsibly, and understanding everyday household bills. Throughout the session, pupils explored how money is earned, how it is spent within a household and why it is important to prioritise essential costs before spending on non-essential items.

We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and the practical skills the children have developed, which will support them in becoming financially responsible individuals in the future.

Well done Y5!

A reminder that World Book Day will take place on Thursday 5 March.

Children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We can’t wait to see all the creative costumes and celebrate our love of reading together!

MGJS is open as usual tomorrow, but there are diversions on Station Road, which will affect the traffic and parking.
Please consider your journey and parking time. Thank you!
