The University of Birmingham Shakespeare Society
The University of Birmingham Shakespeare Society. Of course, these are all preliminary, seeing as this would depend on the wishes of our committee and members.
This society warmly welcomes any Shakespeare newbie or nut, and will be a place to broaden your Shakespeare knowledge, as well as meet people with shared interests. We are very fortunate to be literally surrounded by Shakespeare’s legacy, which provides us with many options for exciting future events; trips to Stratford-upon-Avon, communal play readings, film screenings, lectures, bimonthly drinks and pub quizzes are certainly on our list.

We're going to sort communications about this once everyone has their tickets.

Happy 457th Birthday to the very man himself, Will Shakespeare!
Here at ShakeSoc, we are do everything we can to make our members feel safe in our space. This year, one thing that we haven't had to think about is the safety of our members walking home after events. But we have in the past, and we will again in the future. The streets of Selly Oak and the Vale are not places where students feel safe; the university will not take responsibility for our safety.
We want to affirm our support and solidarity with all those at the Reclaim Our Campus event and thank everyone who shared their story. As a society, we are committed to preventing misogynistic behaviour. If you have ever felt unsafe in our space and feel comfortable telling us, please do. We always want to do better. At ShakeSoc, we believe you and we stand with you.
