📢 Year 10 Work Experience – Support Needed!
We are looking for parents or carers who may be able to host one (or two) of our fantastic Year 10 students for a one-week work experience placement from Monday 6th July to Friday 10th July.

This is a great opportunity for students to experience the workplace first-hand and develop vital life skills such as punctuality, organisation, resilience, and professionalism.

If you have a local business, work in a school, or are part of a local organisation or charity, we would love to hear from you!

If you feel you could support by offering a placement, please get in touch. Your support can make a real difference and help ensure all students benefit from this valuable experience.

This morning, colleagues from South & City College Birmingham delivered an informative assembly to our Year 10 students. They spoke about the wide range of courses available, the excellent facilities on offer, including a gym, and the different campuses across the city.

Students were also guided through the application process and informed about upcoming open days, giving them a valuable insight into their post-16 options.

Thank you to Miss Asquith for arranging the visit, and to our colleagues from South & City College Birmingham for delivering such an engaging and informative assembly.

An absolutely phenomenal start to this half term. ALL students in lessons and doing their assessments in Assessment Week. Super proud of all of our students.

Mr. Wilks visited Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Many other schools were there from the local area and there were thousands of students from across the UK accepting the award.

Mr. Wilks enjoyed a coffee and a cake from King Charles in the outside Marquee and a speech by Prince Edward and a few other celebrities!!

Shenley Academy's Student Parliament hosted Preet Gill MP this morning. They discussed Preet's role as a local MP and what she has done to benefit her constituents. Members of the Student Parliament spoke confidently about what they like about the school, the local area and discussed how Preet's work in Bartley Green could benefit young adults at Shenley and beyond.
