To anyone struggling for Christmas remember it won’t always be a struggle, your presence is better than your presents and anyone that has lost someone close knows that Christmas is the hardest time of the year and to have them back even just for Christmas Day would be the best present ever. So although it might not seem like it, it’s not what you have it’s who you have, it doesn’t matter what’s under the tree it matters who’s around it.

Seek to understand you pain. Don’t just mask it with painkillers or supports.
Manual therapists can help put you on the right path to a full recovery, but remember you h e to put in some work to get the full results. Nothing comes easy in this life.

What do you want to achieve?…
Are you trying to temporarily reduce pain? Or mask your pain with pills?… or misdiagnosis?.. or are you looking for surgery to just rid the pain?…
There is other ways. Niggles, muscular or joint pain can be undone through other interventions and often result in a faster and safer recovery sometimes creating a reduction in risk of future injury’s.

Breathe... slow down and take a breath.
Over working, over doing it is what usually leads us to pain mentally and physically...
Take a nap, follow a mobility/ flexibility routing, try doing some yoga or if your not moving enough go for a walk in the fresh air.

When we experience pain, we often wonder “what the hell did I do?”
In our search for answers, many go to DR. Google. Others go right to the orthopaedic doctor who orders an array of images to “find out” what is going on inside.
Either path leads us to labels. We attempt to place a name on our pain. Like...
‘That torn meniscus is the reason for your knee pain” OR “see those degenerative discs? That’s why your back hurts.”
Maybe you’ve been told that your shoulder pain is the result of “those impinged rotator cuff tendons.”
In doing so we often lose our identity.
We are no longer the adventurous person, runner, weightlifter or doing yoga.
We become our pain. We become our injury. We become our diagnosis.
When in reality, 90% of what we find on images or online is completely harmless. All of these scary “findings” are really just natural wear and tear of getting older and being an active human.
Pain is just information. Be careful how you decide to label it. It guides us to better movement if we take the time to slow down, breathe, and seek to understand.
Your body. Your choice.
Find yourself a professional who understands movement, who understands pain, who understands you.
You relationship to pain is in movement...
