Welcome words of wisdom from Lewis!
My name is Lewis Miller and I am the new Behaviour & Pastoral Lead. I have extensive experience working in alternative provisions which has enabled me to support children & young people with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs.
My role in the school will involve creating and developing a culture where promoting positive behaviour is being enforced. This includes staff and students building positive relationships, high quality behaviour management, supporting the students to display positive behaviours, and having an open door policy for students to discuss any issues.
I consider myself to be a highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic person, that is passionate in making a difference and impacting the student's lives.

Today school stopped on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to remember and thank those who fought for our country & paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Wherever you are or whatever you’re doing today, we ask at 11am, for a two-minute silence.
We will be taking part in the two-minute silence on the Newbury School Car Park today, we also have poppies for anyone who would like one.
Why do we wear poppies? The reason poppies are used to remember those who have given their lives in battle is because they are the flowers which grew on the battlefields after World War One ended.
At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them.
The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.
Armistice is Latin for to stand (still) arms.
To this day we mark Armistice Day around the United Kingdom with a Two Minute Silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.
This year The Royal British Legion are asking the nation to pause, breathe and reflect on the service and sacrifices the Armed Forces make on our behalf.

Today we're wearing yellow to support YoungMinds with !
It’s normal to have ups and downs – and this year might have felt a little more down than up. But it’s the little things that have got us through it.
Wearing yellow today is a little thing we can do to make a big difference. Today let’s celebrate the little things we can do to look after ourselves and support each other, and together, we can show young people they’re not alone with their mental health.
The more people who show they care, the more comfortable young people will feel about talking to someone if they’re struggling.
