The children had a go at tasting different foods. They were the vegetables s that we read about in the story of “Oliver’s Vegetables“.

They also had some real food in the home area and had a go at chopping.

We talked about Fay 5 a day and 2 snacks max.

The children were very careful when using the children’s safety knives for chopping.

To celebrate our “red” theme and as part of our ongoing Startwell programme, the children in Willow group got to taste some red coloured foods during their snack time. We tried red apples, strawberry’s and cherry tomatoes and enjoyed drinking a red smoothie in our cups which the children helped to make.
Here we are with Micky me size and Fay 5 a day enjoying our red coloured snack.

11 reasons to come to groups!🧸

1. It improves social and emotional development of both parent & carer and child.

2. It allows parents & carers to see their child interacting in an environment and with children who may be unfamiliar to them, which is great practice for school and nursery.

3. It allows both parent & carer and child to meet new people and make new friends.

4. Sessions include activities that will boost children's holistic development.

5. Sessions may offer new and educational opportunities for children.

6. There is a wide range of activities that celebrate different celebrations and festivals depending on the time of year.

7. Children can enjoy messy activities without parents & carers worrying about the clean up that would be if they were to be doing it at home.

8. Parents and carers may get tips, tricks and advice from their peers.

9. It's FREE!

10. Children get an opportunity to be more independent whilst also having their parent & carer in the room.

11. Parents & carers are welcome to help out with activities and tidy up, as well as offering requests to tailor the group to what they would enjoy.

Please see our cover photo for more information on what groups are available😁
