We couldn’t be prouder of our incredible chef lecturer, Adam Pickett, who has been recognised as Community Learning Champion at the West Midlands Adult Learning Awards.
Adam's journey is a great example of the impact a supportive education can have.
Having studied at University College Birmingham before building an international culinary career, he returned to teach at the university with a determination to create opportunities for young people in his local community.
With our support, he established the Chelmsley Starters culinary school and Bluebell Wood eaterie, just outside Birmingham, last year, helping young people develop practical skills and build the confidence to pursue a career they could be proud of.
A huge congratulations, Adam, you thoroughly deserve this recognition!
