Thank you everyone for coming along to our first public speaking workshop of the year! We had such a great turnout, and we hope everyone learnt a lot and met some great people 🤗

Ibby gave a great all in one, comprehensive guide on finding your voice and delivering a great speech, which was followed by members applying their newly learnt knowledge in new years themed table topics 🤠

With a super chaotic and intense mafia game to end the night, the session was a great success 💯

🚨 DONT FORGET 🚨 to sign up to participate in external university public speaking competitions with us! No experience is needed - we will guide you as much as we can! The sign up link is in our Instagram bio 🏃

This is great for all level of speakers, so make sure to come along 🤗

And of course, we have some table topics after, so you can put your newly learned skills to the test!

Bring your friends along for a great time, we hope to see you there ☺️🫵

Our Story

Toastmasters aims to provide our students a platform to build up your confidence in public speaking, communication & leadership skills.

At meetings, we usually have up to three prepared speeches (4-6 minutes each) and evaluations in the first half. Then there’s a snack break, and in the second half we do tabletopics. Tabletopics are short (1-2 minutes) impromptu speeches on often quite random topics, such as ‘why is a swamp the best place to live?’ or ‘you are the Queen. Tell us about...’ Everyone who speaks will get an evaluation and the best speakers, evaluators, and tabletopics speakers can win certificates.

Anyone can take roles at meetings, and the roles only last for that one meeting. The roles available are:

Speaker -does a prepared speech on any topic, lasting for 4-6 minutes
