Allah Gave You Two Eyes to See
✍️ Khalid Tasneem Madani
If Allah Almighty has blessed you with two eyes, then why do you look at people through the words and opinions of others?
Someone says something about a person,
someone makes a complaint,
someone plants their own opinion in your heart—
and without knowing the truth, you pass your judgement!
Remember!
What you hear from others is often only one side of the story. Allah has given you eyes, intellect, and the ability to distinguish right from wrong so that you may seek the truth and act with justice.
Treat people according to what you have personally witnessed, not merely according to what you have heard from others.
Sometimes, we hear something about a person from someone else and begin to develop hatred or dislike for them. Yet, had we seen the reality with our own eyes, perhaps that very person would have earned our respect instead.
Allah Almighty says:
أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ ٨
“Have We not given him two eyes?”
(Surah Al-Balad, 90:8)
So, see with your own eyes, understand with your own intellect, and judge with your conscience.
Do not make someone else’s words your eyes.
Do not make someone else’s opinion your reality.
And do not make someone’s complaint the basis of your judgement against another person.
Because what you have heard may not be the complete truth.
Therefore:
“Do not see people through the words of others; see them through your own observation and your own eyes. For one wrongly heard statement can completely change the way you perceive an innocent person.”
