There is a real sense of purpose to school life, with pupils encouraged to work hard, challenge themselves and take pride in what they do. But there is always time to play, laugh, get stuck into something new and enjoy being a child.

From the classroom to the sports field, music and drama to the friendships made along the way, we want our pupils to make the most of every opportunity.

Kindness. Respect. Confidence. Responsibility.

The values that shape a child extend far beyond the classroom.

Pupils are encouraged to think about others, listen, show empathy and take responsibility for their actions. They learn the importance of treating people with respect, supporting one another and having the confidence to make the right choices.

These everyday moments help to create a warm, positive school community where children feel valued, included and comfortable being themselves.

Education is not only about what you learn, but about the person you grow into.

Choosing the right school is about finding a place where children can grow, thrive and truly enjoy their early years.

Pupils are encouraged to challenge themselves, discover their strengths and develop the confidence to take on new opportunities. Alongside strong academic foundations and preparation for Birmingham’s leading secondary schools, we place equal importance on curiosity, creativity, communication and character.

With small class sizes, dedicated teachers and an extensive programme of activities beyond the classroom, every child has the opportunity to get involved, try something new and find their own way to shine.

One of the core values of The West House Way is to be kind, polite and caring.

These simple values help our pupils build positive relationships, show respect for others, and create a supportive community where everyone feels included.

Kindness and compassion not only make our school a better place - they are qualities that will guide our pupils throughout their lives.

WHOBA Cricket Match 2026 🏏

It was wonderful to welcome more than 20 Old Boys back to Richmond Hill for this year's annual WHOBA Cricket Match, with former pupils ranging from one of our earliest Old Boys, who left in 1990, to this year's leavers - a fantastic reflection of the strength of the West House community.

Captained by Emin and Andrew, two evenly matched teams enjoyed a competitive game played in excellent spirit, featuring some superb batting, bowling and fielding. Emin's side posted 166 from 20 overs before holding on for victory after a determined chase.

More important than the result was the opportunity for Old Boys of all ages to reconnect, renew friendships and continue one of West House's most valued traditions.

We look forward to doing it all again next year! πŸ™Œ

A wonderful evening celebrating the achievements of our pupils! ✨

Our annual Prize Giving at the magnificent Ruddock Hall was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the hard work, talent and dedication shown by our pupils throughout the year.

From inspiring speeches by Mr Lyttle and our Head Boy, Yifan Chen, to celebrating success across academics, sport, music, the arts and service, it was an evening filled with pride and memorable moments.

It was also a pleasure to welcome Mrs Nina Hobson, Head Teacher of our partner school, EHS, as our special guest, reflecting the strong partnership between our schools.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and to every pupil who has made this such a successful year at West House School. To our Year 6 leavers, we wish you every success as you begin your next adventure – you'll always be part of the West House family. πŸ’™

Being part of the West House family gives the boys an opportunity to make a collection of happy memories that can truly last a lifetime. Resilience, confidence and courage all combined can inspire a generation and our journey to Molineux this year has been a landmark moment in the history of the school. βš½οΈπŸ™ŒπŸŽŠ

The effort demonstrated by the boys this year on the sporting field has been unbelievable and we could not be prouder of their achievements in the 25/26 season!πŸ‘βœ¨

Year 2 are having a GREAT finish to the Summer Term! First, they had an incredible day out at West Midlands Safari Park followed by an action packed Sports Day at Richmond Hill! The big smiles on all their faces shows how the magic of the Summer Term can create fond memories for even our youngest boys! πŸ¦πŸƒπŸŽ‰

Thank you, West House School community! πŸ“š

We were delighted to receive this wonderful certificate from The Children's Book Project following our recent Book Drive.

Thanks to the generosity of our pupils and families, the donated books will soon be given to children who have few, or in some cases no, books of their own. Every donation will help more young readers experience the joy of owning and enjoying a book.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our Book Drive. We are so proud of the compassion and community spirit shown by our pupils and families.
