🛠️ Summer Updates at OA Wattville! 🛠️

Whilst we are away, it's all systems go at OA Wattville! Contractors and staff have been working hard at the academy over the summer to ensure the very best for all our children on their return in September.

Here’s a look at what’s been happening behind the scenes:

🤸 Gym Roof Repairs: The gym roof is almost fixed and will be fully ready for the children to use in September!

🚽 New Facilities: We have brand-new boys' and girls' toilets.

🔥 Upgraded Heating System: All pipework has been replaced to introduce a new heating system in every classroom—ensuring no unnecessary closures during cold weather (unimaginable right now, we know! ☀️).

🚦 Improving Road Safety Around Our School
Another exciting and brilliant change has come directly from our pupils engaging with newly elected local Councillor Rinkal Shergill for Holyhead. One of the main issues our children spoke about was road safety around the school.

Thanks to their initiative and Councillor Shergill’s hard work, we now have a 20 mph zone surrounding the school to help keep our children safe! There’s still more to do, but this is a fantastic start. A massive thank you to Councillor Rinkal Shergill for her support with this!

Today we're celebrating our Year 6 pupils, the staff who have supported them, and the families who have championed them every step of the way.

SATs results are just one part of the story. Behind every result sits years of learning, perseverance, encouragement and growth.

Whatever the numbers on the page, we're proud of how far our pupils have come and excited for the next chapter ahead. 💙

Well done to all of our fantastic year 6 pupils, both here at Wattville, and across the Oasis Community Learning trust. You've all done yourselves immensely proud! 💙

Today we have been celebrating the achievements of our Year 6 pupils across the Oasis family. 💙

We're incredibly proud that our primary academies have achieved our strongest Key Stage 2 results in more than 20 years, with 64% of pupils reaching the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics combined!

While SATs are only one measure of achievement, these results reflect the hard work, determination and potential of thousands of children, supported every day by dedicated staff, families and communities.

Tomorrow we'll be sharing more of our outcomes and what this progress means for our communities.

It was a pleasure to visit Oasis Academy Wattville Road and spend time speaking with the children in Eleanor Stevenson’s class about current issues affecting our community. It was wonderful to hear their ideas, questions, and enthusiasm. Encouraging young people to take an interest in their local community is so important.

I also met with the Head Teacher, Renu Samuel, to discuss ongoing concerns about parking around the school and, most importantly, the safety of children during drop-off and pick-up times. Keeping our children safe must always be a priority, and I will continue working with the school and relevant partners to help find practical solutions.

Thank you to Oasis Academy Wattville Road, Head Teacher Renu Samuel, Eleanor Stevenson, and all the staff and pupils for such a warm welcome.

⚽ CELEBRATE THE GAME! ⚽

Following the big England game on Monday morning, we invite all children to come to the Academy in non-uniform on Monday morning to celebrate!

Here is what you need to know for Monday:

👕 Show Your Support: You can wear your England kit or your favorite football shirt!

⏰ Normal Opening: The Academy will open at its usual, normal time.

⏱️ Be On Time: Children (and staff!) are fully expected to arrive on time.
