to June this year, where Health for Life schools had an outstanding presence in the 2026 Meal in a Barrow competition at Gardener's World Live, with an impressive 40 entries submitted by both current and former Health for Life primary schools and nurseries 🥗🥕🌱

Each wheelbarrow showcased not only creativity and horticultural skill, but also a clear passion for healthy eating, sustainability and hands-on learning 👏

The Meal in a Barrow showcase is a highlight of Gardener’s World Live, capturing the attention of visitors throughout the event. Crowds were drawn to the vibrant, imaginative displays, taking time to explore the unique planting schemes and read the stories behind them.

A huge well done to all the schools who took part! đź’š

Last month, nearly 4,000 of our talented young musicians and singers took to the stage at Birmingham Symphony Hall as part of this year’s Youth Proms, treating audiences to spectacular performances over four evenings, showcasing a range of talent and musical genres 🎶

These concerts marked the end of our academic year, and we look forward to starting it all over in a couple of weeks as the new academic year begins and we welcome new musicians - as well as returning ones - into our Ensembles across the city.

As a charity, fundraising plays a large part in making opportunities such as these possible. help our Music Ensembles continue to thrive, by making a donation here 👉 https://buff.ly/UdNBSiG

The SENCO: The Most Undervalued Member of Staff?đź’ˇ

The SENCO role is wonderfully rewarding, but it is also complex, strategic, and emotionally demanding.

Our young musicians do themselves, and us, proud every time they take to the stage, and last month's Youth Proms were no exception.

Their performances were fantastic, and show how really make a difference to a young person’s life, given the opportunity 🎶

We hope everyone who joined us at one (or more) of the concerts enjoyed what they saw as much as we did and felt as proud as we did of everyone who took part.

Each year, we offer nearly 4,000 Ensemble places to young musicians across the city, providing free instrument loan and repair, expert tuition, and fantastic performance opportunities such as the Youth Proms. We offer each of these placements at no charge, but it costs an average of around ÂŁ280 per place, per year.

As a charity, fundraising plays a large part in making opportunities such as these possible. be part of the difference we make and help us continue to offer the incredible opportunities we do by making a donation here 👉 https://buff.ly/vVRtcvb
