Happy International Women’s Day 💜
Female role models are a constant source of inspiration here at EHS. Our girls have chosen and designed these illustrations of nine inspirational women and one remarkable team who continue to shape the world around us.
But there’s also an eleventh inspiration - you.
Take a moment to look in the mirror and remember the impact you have on the people around you every day.
Here’s to empowering our fearlessly female girls to be even bolder, braver and more inspirational than they already are ✨

Celebrating World Book Day the EHS way 📚✨
Our day began with an inspiring assembly about the joy of reading and how a love of books can begin with the very first stories we hear as children. From turning pages in Prep to discovering new worlds in Senior and Sixth Form, reading is something we truly treasure across our school.
And of course, it wouldn’t be World Book Day without the costumes… a fantastic excuse to dress up, which we absolutely love at EHS! 📖🎭

Who better to guide our Year 9s as they begin their journey toward GCSEs than our Year 11 girls?
As part of our Girls With Goals programme, we asked several of our Year 11 pupils to share their highlights from Year 9, as well as the challenges they faced - and they certainly delivered!
Thank you, girls, for your thoughtful and invaluable insights. We’re sure your words will support not only this year’s cohort, but many more to come.

School Update | 09/01/2026 ❌❄️
Due to heavy snow, Edgbaston High School is closed today. Details have been emailed to parents and staff.
Before the end of term, we caught up with Head Girl Zahra to hear about her highlights from the term, what she’s most looking forward to next year, her reflections on stepping into the role of Head Girl, and her message to her fellow EHS girls as we head into 2026 🫶 🌟
Thank you, Zahra! You and your Leadership Team have done a fantastic job this term, and we can’t wait to see all that next year has in store!

Today, our school community came together for a special Remembrance Service and assembly, reflecting on EHS’s history during the war 🌺
Laurel, Anne Howarth, opened the assembly with a moving poem, before Miss Glover shared insights into school life during wartime, including fascinating photographs of pupils taking part in a bomb raid drill.
After the assembly, alumnae and former staff gathered in the Ante Hall to explore our EHS archives from this poignant period.
Today, we remember, and honour, the courage, commitment and community spirit of all those who lived through those times ❤️

This term we’re excited to launch Girls with Goals - a new programme for students in Years 9–11, designed to build confidence, resilience and ambition 🎯 💪
Alongside academic studies, the programme supports personal growth through our school’s Core Values. Each term, students will focus on one value, starting with Aspiration 🌟 From assemblies and workshops to mentoring, enrichment and leadership, they won’t just learn our values, they’ll live them.
To celebrate, our Year 9 team welcomed students and families to an inspiring afternoon of goal-setting 🎯, sharing hopes and dreams past and present.
