New babies have a real talent for making you feel like you don't know what you're doing.
Baby massage gives you something that helps, and something to actually do when they're upset.
It's a proper skill, not a pampering session (but that too!)
Over five weeks you learn a full sequence to use at home that calms and settles your baby, so the tough bits of the day feel a bit more manageable.
The mums say it settles them as much as the baby.
A small group at Roots Studio in Kinver.
Thursday mornings from September.
A keepsake to take home each week, a warm drink and a calm hour that's good for both of you. For babies from around 6 weeks up to fully rolling.
Tap to book and share with your friends.

Baby massage is starting in Solihull and Kings Heath next week, and there are a couple of spaces left if anyone fancies joining.
It's a small group at Wild Fox in Hockley Heath, Monday mornings at 10.30,
and Graft Wednesdays at 11.30 for babies from around 6 weeks up to fully rolling (ish).
Over five weeks you learn a full massage sequence to use at home, the tummy strokes that help shift trapped wind especially, plus there's a keepsake to take home each week and a proper cup of tea while the babies have their turn.
It's a relaxed hour, no experience needed, and completely fine if your baby cries or needs feeding partway through. Nobody minds.
Starts Monday 10 August. I'll pop the booking link in the comments or jump on my profile / nurtureandwild.co.uk. Any questions, just ask, happy to help.
This is the Monday room before anyone arrives.
Sigh? Ahhhhh
Candles on, lamps low, everything laid out and warm (or cool!), ready for you and your baby.
The whole hour is designed to be calm on purpose.
Your gentle hands, a quiet room, nowhere else to be.
You learn a full massage sequence and make treasures and memories to take home, and over the weeks your baby starts to settle into it, (which is how the unsettled end of the day slowly gets easier.)
Monday mornings, 10.30, at Wild Fox in Hockley Heath. Five weeks from 10 August, babies six weeks to rolling. Link in bio.

Baby Massage Kinver
Yay! I'll be bringing baby massage to Roots, Mind and Body Studio in Kinver from September.
I'm a mum of two and an early years teacher, and I've been running baby massage and baby classes over in Kings Heath and Solihull for a while now. I've been wanting to take classes over that way (near family) for ages.
It's a five-week block, small group, Thursday mornings from September. Proper details and booking coming very soon. For now I just wanted to share the news, and if you know anyone this might suit feel free to share.
Any questions, just ask.

A little look at what we get up to in baby massage.
Over the five weeks we work through a full sequence, a bit at a time, until it's yours to use at home. Legs and feet to start, then the tummy work that helps shift trapped wind, chest and arms, and by the end you're doing the whole thing in order without thinking about it.
There's a bit of ceremony to it too. Candlelight, a flower week, and a keepsake to take home from each session. And usually a cup of tea you might even get to finish, because if your baby needs a cuddle partway through, someone's there to hold them.
One thing to try at home tonight: after a warm bath, a few slow strokes down each leg, working from the thigh down to the foot.
Warm hands, calm, no rush, and stop if they've had enough.
Blocks running now in Kings Heath, Hockley Heath and Kinver. Details and booking are on the page, or drop me a message.
Or what to do when breathing isn't enough.
That's what the Birth Workshop is for. One evening - the practical side of getting ready.
Anna shows you the movement and the body, and how the way you move in the last weeks shapes how labour goes.
I take you through the calm and the decisions, what's actually happening at each stage and how to think clearly when it matters. No commitment to a full course, and no need to be into any of it already.
It's on the 16th of July, six til eight, at Graft in Kings Heath. Good if you're somewhere in the middle/ second half of pregnancy and want to feel readier without signing up to anything big.
Booking's on Anna's page, link in our bios.

There is just one space left for July baby massage
Starts this Monday over in idyllic Hockley Heath for babies from around six weeks to rolling. Small group, five weeks. A lot of it is the windy, won't-settle stage that tends to land in the early evening, plus a bit of time that's just yours. If your baby's at that stage and you fancy a calm hour out with them, give me a shout and I'll send the details.

Hot! 🔥
Both class rooms stay pretty cool, by the way. Graft in Kings Heath has a good through breeze, shade and fans, and Wild Fox out at Box Trees stays naturally cool with the stone and the shade. Wednesday and Friday mornings as usual, a calm hour out of the heat with your baby.
Starting in less than 2 weeks.
Massage at Kings Heath 10am is full, the new 1pm class has three spaces. Solihull Friday has a few left. Link in the comments if you'd like to book.

A few signs they're ready.
They've started arching and kicking when you lay them down.
They're awake more now, and less happy to just be put somewhere.
The rocking has seriously upped its game.
That's the stage Baby Yoga is made for.
We move them gently through stretches and balances the foundation of rolling, crawling and eventually walking (noooo not yet... ikr)
The movement also helps with the windy, unsettled patches that often show up around now, and it tends to help with settling later in the day.
There's a wellbeing thread for you in every session too. Some gentle work back towards your core and pelvic floor.
And space to think about how you're actually doing, a few months in.
Wednesdays, 10am, at Graft Pilates in Kings Heath. The new course starts Wednesday 8 July and runs five weeks, for babies from around three months up to crawling.
Small group, so head to the link in bio to book.

Something I notice every course i run,
usually around week two.
If there's a baby who cried through the first session - she settles the moment you walk in the second time.
Nothing's changed in the routine at home, often.
I'm pretty sure it's that they've learned the routine. Mum is there. My voice becoming familiar. The journey. Mum is more chilled this time too.
Same lights, same music, same voices, same time.
Little babies do read patterns like quickly, and once they trust the space their nervous system eases.
It's one of the reasons these classes work, and it's why I plan for familiarity. Less overload for everyone.
