🌳🍂 Welcome Back to Chatterboxes Preschool 🍂🌳

What a wonderful start to the new term! 💚 The children are settling back in beautifully, and it’s heartwarming to see them reconnecting with their friends, familiar routines and all the little things that make Chatterboxes Pre-School feel like home.

This week, we’ve been enjoying the delightful story “The Oak Tree” by Julia Donaldson. 🌳📖 It tells the fascinating tale of an incredible Oak Tree that stood for over a thousand years — inspiring us to think about nature, growth and the world around us.

Inspired by the story, we’re planning a very special project of our own, nurturing our own little Oak Trees from acorns. 🌱🌳 We’re excited to see where this little adventure takes us!

We’re also on the lookout for the oldest Oak Tree in Moseley! 🌳👀 If you know where it is — and, even better, how old it is — please let us know. We’d love to plan an outing to see it and share this wonderful experience with the children.

Here’s to a term filled with curiosity, discovery, friendships and lots of wonderful adventures! ❤️

☀️ We survived the extreme heatwave! 💦🧊

Despite the soaring temperatures, we made sure everyone stayed safe, cool and happy while still having lots of fun. Our little ones enjoyed some lovely outdoor activities in the garden, with water play and ice proving to be firm favourites! 💙

Keeping hydrated, seeking shade and making the most of cooling activities meant everyone could enjoy the sunshine safely.

We hope everyone else managed to stay cool too! 🌞💛

🎨🖍️ **What a super fun activity we had on Friday!**

The children discovered the chalks and chalkboards and eagerly chose what they wanted to draw. It all started when one little one asked me to draw a cake for her doll. She carefully chose lots of different fruits to make it as healthy as possible and decided exactly how many candles it should have!

Before long, she was drawing her own cake and even decorating her doll with chalk, whispering that we "mustn't tell Mum we've made the doll dirty!" 😊

We enjoyed some wonderful conversations throughout the activity, including chats about Cinderella (see the photo!). Lots of other children soon joined in, sharing ideas, stories, and drawings of their own. We even created a 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' story board together.

Some of the children especially enjoyed rubbing out their pictures and watching the chalk dust fly into the air! There was lots of laughter as they experimented with making marks, wiping them away, and starting all over again.

Activities like these are fantastic for developing communication, imagination, literacy, and early mark-making skills, all while having lots of fun. The session ended with plenty of proud smiles, lots of creativity, and some very messy, chalky hands! 🖍️✨
