💖It's nearly time for the Big Give - the week when all your donations can be doubled! In just three weeks our campaign will launch, celebrating our 40 years of working with women, and hoping to raise £9,000 so we can continue. Sisters Maisie and Magdelene opened their home to women back in 1986 - and we're carrying on that work.
💷 Every donation up to £4500 will be doubled by the Big Give so every pound you give will make double the impact. There's more on our campaign here: https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS00000EzUIrYAN

❓Are you aware of the rights you have as a victim of crime? The Victims' Code says victims across the West Midlands should be understood, informed and supported from the moment you report a crime through to court and beyond.
ℹ️Your rights include:
✓ Written confirmation when a crime is recorded
✓ Updates on your case and important decisions
✓ Information about compensation
✓ Support services and referrals
And much more. You don't have to go through this alone.
Together with our partners across the West Midlands, we're working to make sure victims know what support they should get.

🕯️Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. This year we're being asked to "Change the Narrative", to look at how we react, respond to, and talk about this complex issue. To switch from silence to openness, empathy, and support. The hope is that the more conversations people have, the more barriers are removed, and understanding is increased.
🕯️We put this post together with our mental health caseworker.

💖 Thanks once again to We Can CIC for helping to fill our foodbank shelves!
🥫We take cans collected by local groups, and the women who use Anawim, over to We Can, they swap them for cash and turn that into food.
💖Cleaner streets - and fuller shelves - everyone is happy.

⛳ A huge thank you to Captain Peter Hunt and the members of Moseley Golf Club who supported us withThe Captain's Charity Golf Day fundraiser.
🏌️‍♀️The tournament took place Moseley Golf Club on a sunny August Saturday and raised a brilliant £1,375 for Anawim!
⛳More than 75 golfers took part, and the money was raised through entry fees, tombola, an auction and refreshements, as well as direct donations. The final total was split between us, Operation Santa and Birmingham Hospice. Special thanks to the Captain for all his hard work and for inviting us along – it was a super day!

🔊Did you know that Clinks have launched their manifesto to reform the Criminal Justice System? It has suggestions throughout from organisations like ours - who work with those in the system every day - but are based in the voluntary sector.
🟣Importantly it suggests a "Whole Systems Approach" for women. That includes embedding gender-responsive, holistic and joined-up support across every stage of the criminal justice system and providing sustainable funding for women’s centres and women-specific community support.
📖You can read the full manifesto here:https://clinks.org/sites/default/files/2026-09/Manifesto%20-%20Clinks.pdf

💖 We've loved welcoming our women back this week to a new look Anawim!
🏗️ The centre is back open after a month of transformations – including a brand new kitchen - and a new training hub giving us some much needed space in the main centre.
🟣We've also moved drop-in to the main building meaning we can see twice as many women as before.
