⭐"Taking part in the abseil last year was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Standing at the top and looking over the edge, I remember wondering if I could really do it. With the encouragement of my friends, family, and my NICE community, I found the confidence to abseil down Millers Dale.
At the top, I thought about the children and families I work with every day and the courage and resilience they show in facing challenges. This inspired me to push myself out of my comfort zone.
The sense of achievement afterwards was incredible – so much so that when I was offered a second chance, I ran straight back up to do it again! My advice to anyone taking part this year is to take your time and enjoy the views."⭐
One of our brilliant preschool Conductors, Megan, tells us in her own words why she chose to do the NICE Heights Abseil last year! Click the link for more information and to become a NICE Champion like Megan ❤️ https://nicecharity.org.uk/nice-abseil-2026/

Before half term, we were delighted to have Mel, one of our Adult Conductors, deliver an informative and engaging talk to our carers and support networks. She shared valuable insights into Parkinson’s and the realities of living with the condition.
Sessions like this play an important role in supporting carers with knowledge, confidence and connection, while strengthening the community around those affected. Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a positive and worthwhile discussion. 💙

We asked one of our parents why she chose to sign up the NICE Heights abseil - this is what she said:
"The thought of abseiling down a towering structure might send shivers down most people's spines, but for me, it represents a powerful act of defiance and a profound expression of love. My two wonderful children, with their unique challenges and boundless spirits, are the driving force behind this daring challenge.
Witnessing their daily battles, their unwavering resilience, and their infectious joy in their faces, has always ignited a fire within me. They inspire me every single day with their strength, their courage, and their sheer determination to live life to the fullest. Now, it's my turn to show them, and everyone around me what I'm capable of when driven by a cause that touches my heart.
This abseil isn't just about conquering an activity, it's about ascending to new heights of advocacy for those who deserve the very best support. It's about demonstrating that challenges, no matter how daunting, can be overcome with bravery and unwavering commitment. Every step I take down Brindley Place, will be a testament to my children's incredible spirit and a stride towards a future where they, and others like them, have every opportunity to thrive.
By participating in this abseil, I aim to raise vital funds for an organisation that provides invaluable resources, support, and hope to families like mine. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of countless individuals, empowering them to overcome obstacles and realize their full potential.
Join me on this exhilarating journey as I face this challenge, push my limits, and stand tall for my children. Together, we can make a tangible difference and support those who really do need Conductive Education to help them thrive. This challenge is to help their well-being and the support they receive are so profoundly important to me. This is for them and families just like ours."
Join Cortney and sign up now so no one has to face a movement disorder alone ❤

R and L did some amazing straight legged sitting with their gaiters on!🌟
Maintaining such a big and important stretch while using their arms and engaging their cores to keep upright is an incredible achievement for our children. 🏆
Hard work feels a lot more like fun when you’re learning, laughing, and growing alongside your friends! 🥳❤️

Our children’s playground at NICE is a place for movement, confidence and joy – and we’d love your help to give it a fresh new look 🎨
Our shed and fence are in need of a coat of paint, and we’re asking our wonderful community if you can help us make it happen.
We’ve added exactly what we need to our Amazon Wish List. The first two items on the list are the paint for this project. If you’re able to donate by purchasing one of these items, or even just sharing this post with someone who might help, you’ll be making a real difference to the children and families who use this space every day.

An enormous THANK YOU to Sarah, who has now raised an incredible £1,800 for NICE ahead of her 100km Race to the Stones challenge this July! 💛
Sarah is taking on this amazing ultra marathon in memory of her friend Matilda, whose family received support through NICE. Her dedication, kindness and determination are truly inspiring, and we are so grateful for everything she is doing to support children and adults with movement challenges.
Every donation will help NICE continue providing life-changing support, specialist programmes and opportunities for families who need us most. 🙏
