Baby signing helps babies learn to communicate before they can talk! From as early as 6 months babies can tell you what they want, what they are thinking and how they feel by using baby signing. 💜Ever wondered why I do what I do? 💜

It’s because it gives your little ones a voice before they can speak………. And boy when that voice kicks in! Well, I get my own set of cheerleaders! 📣

💬🗣️Boost Early Communication Skills
While it might seem like a simple gesture, signing is a powerful tool for early communication. Babies and toddlers who sign often start speaking earlier and have larger vocabularies. The visual nature of signing helps reinforce language skills, setting a strong foundation for future learning.

If you want to do something that’s great value for money, helps you find your community and connection with other parents, grandparents and carers and is something that will help you communicate with them earlier…….this is for you.

Join us and discover the joys of signing with your newborn, baby or toddler. Together, we’ll unlock a world of understanding and connection.

Booking for the summer term is NOW open. DM or WhatsApp me for more information And be in with the chance of winning £50 in vouchers to spend on you a your little one.

This week we’re focusing on language development.

Baby signing supports early communication by helping little ones understand the back-and-forth of conversation. That I say something or make a sign and someone responds to me. That pattern begins long before spoken words.

Research suggests signing can support vocabulary growth and confidence. Babies begin to realise they can make things happen through communication.

It can also strengthen bonds with the adults around them. That’s why I always encourage families to share signs with grandparents and close friends. The more consistent the experience, the clearer the message becomes.

As a new parent, I had no idea what my baby wanted or needed when my usual “let’s try this” routine didn’t work (nappy, milk, cuddle, dummy - well that’s what I felt like!🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️)

I knew she was clever and she’d look at me with those beautiful blue eyes, willing me to understand her.
But how?

When she was 3 months old, I ventured into taking her to classes and found one that intrigued me - using BSL signs with her so she’d could communicate before she could speak! Not just music or play? I fancied a challenge as my baby brain was fuzzy so I went along.

I’m normally quite an outgoing person but having this little one to be responsible for had left me feeling nervous. I didn’t know anyone there and would anyone acknowledge me? Say hi? What if she sleeps or cries?

Little did I know that by setting foot in that class I had changed my destiny - leading me to early communication with my little one initially and then turning into my career for the last 15 years!

TinyTalk Baby Signing was amazing for my baby and for me.

In that first class I learned a few simple signs we used a lot at home — milk, what, food. I used them all the time in context and I was amazed that she seemed to know I was communicating with her and she wanted to watch me. I saw excited legs and a smiley face 😀 and wriggling hands.

Before long she confidently signed for “milk” and the joy for both of us when it clicked was amazing. She was genuinely happy to be understood and I was delighted it had worked (as I was sceptical.)

That baby is almost 18 now and has become the most wonderful, chatty, confident, clever young lady. ❤️

I can’t recommend baby signing to you enough.

If you’d like a FREE starter guide to baby signing so you can start at home yourself, comment FREE and I’ll get it over to you.

Save this for the day motherhood feels ready hard!

Because sometimes we all need reminding of these 6 truths.

You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to keep showing up, and that’s exactly what you’re doing.

Becoming a parent changes everything.

If you have ever wondered, am I doing it right? (I have and still do) Please know this:

I promise you not one mum has it all figured out, we are all learning as we go.

Your baby doesn’t need perfection, they just need YOU.

As the days go by you will start to understand and get to know each other, noticing their cues.

Simple things like talking about what your baby is looking at and using baby signs can help build that understanding sooner.

Parenting was never meant to be done alone.

That’s why TinyTalk classes include time to chat over tea, coffee and biscuits , as well as learning baby signing together.

You are doing an awesome job!

Save this for the hard days. Send it to a parent who might need this reminder today 💜

Our Story

Baby signing helps babies learn to communicate before they can talk! From as early as 6 months babies can tell you what they want, what they are thinking and how they feel by using baby signing. It’s as easy as teaching them to clap & wave! No longer do you have to guess the cry!

Our babies can then progress to our toddler classes where they can continue to learn new signs with music but, most importantly, learn to say the words, thus developing speech. We have props, instruments, books and a fun game each week using the parachute, lycra, balls and even bingo!

Wouldn't you love to come and have some fun with your little one?
