On 28/09 we will be giving a presentation over zoom which will give an insight on what it is like to be a part of the Young Members Group. Including short talks from our members on what they do in their own job and what they have got out of being a part of the institution and the young members group. Every year the young members group runs an online competition and we are happy to announce this year's theme and prize! This years theme is 'Sustainable Structures', we welcome entries from all of our young members which showcase what sustainable structural engineering means to you.
The winner will receive a trophy and a £50 voucher to be used on the IStructE website.
The entries can be in any medium you choose as long as it is your own work e.g. photo, model, sketch, video. All information on how to enter is on the poster below, deadline for entries will be the 10th August.

Although we cannot run events face to face due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The IStructE are looking to engage with our members in whichever way we can, such as running online competitions such as this one.
Send us pictures of what inspired you to become a structural engineer with the hashtag . This can be a photo, a model, sketch or whatever medium you wish. If you win you will get to pick your choice from a range of technical books from the IStructE library. Deadline is 21st April.

Our committee has regular attendees from six different companies and institutions throughout the west midlands (e.g. Arup & WSP). Callum (Ramboll) and Lucia (Hydrock) are two of our regular members who have helped us to organise events. If you would like to join us, get in touch!
