This is a really useful toolkit.
Supporting neurodivergent children
You may be a parent or carer and/or working with young children in an education setting. This toolkit provides practical tips and resources to help you support neurodivergent kids at home and in school.
It’s not a rule book and it’s not about trying to be perfect. Every child is different and every parent, carer or educator will have a different experience of neurodiversity. We hope you find these suggested strategies useful - because understanding children is the first step towards supporting them - and yourself - to thrive.

The Open University Neurodiversity means that our brains are all different. At The Open University, we celebrate difference while also recognising that the right support can enable children who think differently to thrive in school and at home.

❓Which one are you starting this week❓
Family traditions don’t have to be elaborate to be meaningful. 💛
It’s the small, predictable moments — Friday popcorn, pancake mornings, a silly Tuesday dance party — that become the memories your children carry into adulthood.
Traditions build belonging. They create rhythm. They give kids something steady to count on in an unpredictable world.
You don’t need more time — just intention. ✨

Easter Weekend Opening Times!
28/02/2026
It's Spring Cleaning time again!
For the third year running, Friends of Hodge Hill Common will be joining in the Great British Spring Clean organised by Keep Britain Tidy - when groups and individuals all over Britain will be doing their bit for their neighbourhoods.
We're taking our turn a bit ahead of the official campaign dates, as we will meet on 7th March, our usual first Saturday of the month.
We've pledged to collect at least 30 bags full of rubbish. Last year we had 35 volunteers and collected 36 bags, so we hope to do at least as well, if not better than that.
Do come and join us! New and returning volunteers all welcome. We look forward to seeing you next Saturday.
