Hi we are Stephanie Bennett and Lyndsey Hellyn. Move from hurried practice to mindful, curious learning. www.thecuriosityapproach.com

We empower Early Childhood Owners and educators to slow down, design intentionally, and support holistic development.

Tonight I was speaking to some curious early childhood educators from Just Kids and Natural beginning in Cairns, and this was my short walk to the venue. ❤️

What a wonderful evening x
Thank you Hayley for the invite

Baby / infant room space? 😍
When you look to transform your baby room / infant space are you reflecting and following the developmental stages of the children in your care?

As I’m ( Stephanie) in Australia this week let’s link to Developmental milestones and National standards

EYLF Outcome 4:
8-12months
Cognitive
▫️Children are confident and involved learners
▫️Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, enquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating.

▫️E.g. "Provide babies and toddlers with resources that offer challenge, intrigue and surprise, support their investigations and share their enjoyment." (p.35) NQS: Areas 1, 5, 6

Do you have a range of resources, textures, recycled, heuristic items ?
OR is everything plastic, eco plastic, and feels exactly the same ?

Do the resources you offer challenge, intrigue and surprise, support their investigations?

What do you provide in your infant/ baby space?

Are you in need of some guidance, help, support and stepping stones to
Understand what to offer babies? What items, loose parts or treasure baskets

I’m delivering a live presentation
Friday 12th June 7pm ( gmt)
🎉Recording available for everyone who can’t make the time 🎉

Comment ‘ babies’ to book your seat or so you’ll be sent the recording 👇🏽👇🏽

Power of presence retreat 🥰😍
Today I had the pleasure of speaking at ‘The power of presence retreat’ organised by Sesame Lane Kippa Ring - Regency Street team.

Stacey, Karen Hayley and everyone who helped organise and bring this event to fusion. Thank you
It was a wonderful day to connect slow down and to celebrate educators in early childhood education.

This incredible event was organised through the use of Kindy uplift funding, allowing fellow educators from all over the QLD state, to gather together and enjoy a day of kindergarten PD through a range of speakers.
Mandy Alborn for the ‘Acknowledgement of Country’
Mark the MC. Master of Ceremonies
Tess Saker, Waldorf Rythms.
Doug Fargher- Creator of Bush Kindy
Tania Malony - Breakaway Session, Clay Work and Lauren Tonkin, yoga
Me, Steph Bennett for slow pedagogy and a Gong Bath to end the day. ❤️

Watch out later in the year for a twlight session at Sesame Lane, Regency Street, Kippa Ring. Take a tour of this incredible centre.

Babies 🥰
Have you noticed that children are becoming passive learners in their play?

Why ? Because commercialised electronic toys are becoming so intelligent that they play MORE than the child does.

Children sit as electronic toys move and perform and every item is made of plastic! Feeling the same & smelling the same.

The flashing lights, bells, beeps & moving parts ENTERTAIN our babies, instead of allowing them to explore and be naturally curious.

Here at Curiosity Approach settings we look to empower our curious babies to discover and investigate a wealth of random items, natural objects and resources. Treasure baskets and random loose parts

But what can you offer babies?

Want to know more? Comment ‘babies’ 👇🏽

We have an upcoming live session ( virtual ) that gives ideas hints and impression about what you could offer instead. Loose parts for babies 🥰

Sadly in childhoods today, children are becoming passive learners in their play.
Plastic commercialised electronic toys are becoming so intelligent that they play MORE than the child does.

The flashing lights, bells, beeps & moving parts ENTERTAIN our babies, instead of allowing them to explore and be naturally curious.

Here at Curiosity Approach settings we look to empower our curious babies to discover and investigate a wealth of random items, natural objects and resources. A multi sensory Approach to investigation and discovery, finding out about the world around them. ✨

Research & understand WHY these treasures are so beneficial for our young children.
Always ensure supervision & risk assessment of items when introducing treasure baskets to babies and infants *
