Sixth form are enjoying a celebration event today as a reward for all their hard work this term!

The students attended the Last Post at Menin Gate, a ceremony that has occurred everyday for over 80 years, only stopping under German occupation during WWI

Three lucky year 9s and 10s are currently doing the WWI Battlefields Centenary tour.
Their first evening involved handling artefacts from the First World War and discussing the nature of warfare with experts.

On Friday 9th March, Year 10 beat KESH Academy 4-1 in the Birmingham Schools Cup Semi Final, to reach the Final, which is to be held in April. This will be Ark St Albans first ever Football Final!
It’s great when students are involved in giving back to the community. Noha in Y13 has been volunteering with a charity called Ethar Relief - her work consists of working with the charity to organise events and general admin.

Year 8s spent a day learning all about Buddhism with a visit to the Birmingham Buddhist Vihara Temple which boasts the only place of worship in the UK with a pagoda. They were also introduced to the practise of meditation - a first for many of them!

One of our Year 12 Art students has had a wonderful opportunity to exhibit his work.
Kevin’s artwork which was entered into a pop-up exhibition at the Oxo Tower Wharf gallery in London, and his 3 spiderman drawings sold for £110! This is exceptional for someone of his age, and having his work exhibited in such a public space will open many doors for him in the career her wants. Well done Kevin1
