We are committed to providing safe, age-appropriate training that prioritises the physical and emotional wellbeing of our dancers. We believe in developing strong technique and performance skills without placing unnecessary pressure on children or pushing them beyond what they are ready for.
For those who choose to compete, we strive to create opportunities that are exciting, rewarding, and achievable, while maintaining a healthy balance between dance and family life. We believe competitive dance should be enjoyable and enriching, not a source of excessive stress or financial strain.
Above all, we aim to build confident, resilient, respectful young people who develop a lifelong love of dance, create lasting friendships, and make wonderful memories along the way.

Hi Everyone, I’m Lisa, I’m a Dedicated Dance Examiner and Educator with over 30 years of experience in dance instruction, examination and adjudication across ballet, tap, modern, acrobatic, contemporary and musical theatre disciplines. Renowned for delivering rigorous assessments, mentoring students and teachers, and achieving exceptional examination results, including multiple Teachers’ Awards for highest marks from the Associated Board of Dance.

As principal of Hartz Dance School for 18 years, I demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, student progression and community engagement. I’m now teaching Tap here at Grazia, it’s been amazing getting to know the students and working with them so far, and I can’t wait to continue my journey with them 💜

My why has evolved over the last 12 years…… I have evolved, as I become a mom to 2 gorgeous boys that made “My Why” change!

I started Grazia because I loved dance, teaching, and watching children achieve things they never thought possible. I wanted to provide quality training and opportunities while building a better life for my own family.

Over time, I realised I was spending so much time building the business that I was giving less of myself to the people I started it for. I convinced myself that more was surely better, but I had the balance wrong.
Life gave me a wake-up call that changed my perspective. I chose to prioritise myself and my family, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Today, my why is different.

I still care deeply about our dancers and helping them become the best versions of themselves. But I also believe success shouldn’t come at the expense of happiness, wellbeing, or family life.

My goal is to create a dance school where excellence and balance exist together. Where dancers thrive, families enjoy the journey, teachers feel valued, and no one person has to do it all.
I’ve learned that not everyone will understand the thought process behind every decision. That’s okay.
I’m incredibly grateful for the team around me, the families who trust us, and the journey we’re building together. 💜
