Please submit an audition video or portfolio to [email protected] following the audition requirements for your instrument, department or course.

Please send us your audition video within two weeks of applying in order to be considered during our main audition period in November and December. We advise that you submit an audition video via a video sharing platform such as YouTube, Vimeo or YouKu.

As part of your virtual audition you may be invited to attend a virtual interview where you may be asked to perform technical assessments such as sight reading and scales. The virtual interview will also give you a chance to meet our staff and ask questions about life as an international student at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

🎼Updates on auditions for 2021 entry🎼

Live auditions cancelled
🎵Due to the current travel restrictions the live auditions in Malaysia🇲🇾 & Singapore🇸🇬 are unfortunately cancelled. Applicants will need to submit an audition recording instead.

Audition Recordings deadline: 23rd Oct 2020 (Late applicants will be considered and recording links must be submitted by 10th Jan 2021)
🎵This will replace the live audition. Please see guidelines here:

This year the recording does NOT have to be witnessed by the music teacher but a letter of verification will still be required to confirm the identity of the applicant.

Live virtual video call from your own home
