Our learning focus this week has been “Looking After Me” in line with Children's Mental Health Week 🧠💛
Our story focus this week has been The colour monster... The children have enjoyed exploring ways to care for their mental health and wellbeing through exciting activities to promote,
✨ Talking about feelings and emotions
✨ Practising kindness and caring for others
✨ Looking after our bodies through dance and exercise
✨ Building confidence through play and positive encouragement
✨ Understanding the importance of rest, healthy food, and exercise
✨Understanding the importance of looking after our teeth.
We have been encouraging the children to recognise that all feelings and emotions are important, and we have been speaking about these big feelings at circle time. The children have had a wonderful week. Here are some snapshots to share with you all. 💛

In Willow Room we have been focusing on Looking After Me alongside Mental Health Awareness Week. The children have enjoyed lots of fun activities exploring emotions, self-care, and wellbeing. 💚
We practised hand washing by “washing the germs away” using water-filled gloves, talked about different emotions by creating faces in the sand, and explored teeth cleaning using playdough and toothbrushes.
The children also took part in calming yoga sessions and created affirmation jars to help encourage confidence, relaxation, and positive thinking. ✨
These activities support the children’s emotional wellbeing, communication skills, independence, and social development through play and exploration.
It has been lovely to see the children building confidence, expressing their feelings, and learning ways to care for themselves and others. 🌈

Following our celebrations for Sir David Attenborough, the children were very excited to post our special letter to him this week
The letter shared how much he has inspired the children’s learning, curiosity, and love for animals, habitats, and the natural world here at Bambams Nursery.
It was such a lovely experience for the children to take part in and a wonderful way to celebrate someone who has inspired generations to care for our planet. 💚

May was mental health month....Engaging children in mental well-being activities is essential for fostering emotional regulation, building resilience against stress, and developing positive self-esteem.
Children’s mental wellbeing refers to their emotional, psychological, and social health, how they think, feel, communicate, cope with challenges, and build relationships as they grow. Good mental wellbeing helps children feel safe, confident, supported, and able to learn and develop positively.
The children from each room have chosen a daily inspiration card….Here are Mondays inspirations 🤍

Willow Room have been celebrating and learning all about VE Day. The children have enjoyed learning all about this through different activities, we have been making lots of crafts like creating our own medals, flags and a sensory union jack tray where we explored senses though tipping, pouring and mixing, we have also been making poppies with playdough. We have had a group discussion during circle time where the children were able to recognise a Union Jack flag and poppies where they all listened well to the meaning of these🇬🇧
We have also been celebrating David Attenborough's 100th Birthday! We had a visit from David himself during outdoor play where we all enjoyed a bug hunt and we found some creepy crawlies in their muddy environment, we spoke about where some creatures might live the children also suggested places to find them like "we need to dig".🐜🐛.

We are always open and transparent about our fees.
Families can choose either our all-inclusive package or a pay-as-you-go option, allowing you to select what works best for your family and budget.
Unfortunately, the Government funding does not cover the full cost of providing high-quality childcare, meals, activities, consumables, and enrichment experiences. While the Government often promotes funded hours, it does not always reflect the true cost of delivering these services.
As a sector, we continue to campaign for increased funding so that parents are not required to contribute towards additional costs. Until funding better reflects the real cost of childcare, some extras will continue to fall outside of what is covered by Government funding.
We will always be honest, transparent, and upfront about any charges, ensuring parents can make informed choices about the options available to them.

VE day and what this celebration is about. Preschool children watched a short clip around why we celebrate the Victory Of England and why it is so important then and how its just as important now. They children then created their own VE day bunting to hang up at home this weekend. During this activity they used their fine motor skills to colour the flags whilst listening to VE day music.

In Oak Tree Room, we have been exploring our exciting topic of Space 🚀🛰️
The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different planets, discovering their names, appearances, and unique features. Using their creativity and expressive arts skills, the children designed and created their very own colourful planets, showing fantastic imagination and enthusiasm throughout the activities.
Our preschool children also took part in a range of sensory experiences including moon-themed cornflour, space cake playdough, and tinfoil rocket creations. These hands-on activities encouraged the children to explore different textures and materials while supporting their understanding of the world around them.
The children demonstrated wonderful communication and social skills by taking turns, sharing ideas with their friends, and engaging in meaningful conversations during play. Some children were able to confidently identify planets and use descriptive language such as “hard,” “slippy,” and “it looks like concrete” when discussing the textures they explored.
It has been lovely to see the children so engaged, curious, and excited to learn through imaginative play and exploration.
Tomorrow, we will also be celebrating VE Day 🇬🇧 and children are welcome to come dressed in something red, white, or blue.
We will also be celebrating the 100th birthday of David Attenborough by creating exciting provocations and activities inspired by this incredible icon and his love for the natural world.

🚀✨ Space Week Fun! ✨🚀
We’ve been exploring the wonders of space! 🌌 The children have loved playing with aliens and astronauts in the sand, creating their very own planets using playdough, practising their cutting skills by carefully cutting out different planets and counting the moon rocks 🌙
These activities are not only lots of fun but also support important learning and development. Sensory play in the sand and cornflour encourages imagination and language skills, while playdough helps strengthen fine motor control and creativity. Cutting activities build hand strength, coordination, and early scissor skills.
We’re so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been as they learn through play! 🌟👩🚀👨🚀
