When the week starts with sunshine we know it’s going to be good ☺️.

Library visit, where all the children get to join in and show the librarian just how clever they are.

Trip to the park and we took all our scooters and bikes.
Sharing, taking turns. And watching the oldest child show the youngest how to get around safely 🥰.

And of course we had to go and play in the park.

People always ask “isn’t it hard having a different age range”
Nope they all include each other and no one gets left out 🙌.

And digging for treasure.

All of the little one’s favourite things to do. Lots of talk about what colour planes everyone is going on.
Chasing planes when we got left behind 😂.
Creating opportunities for the baby of the group to explore safely but still being able to join in with all her friends ☺️.

Library visit where we got to read the gruffalo granny and make our own gruffalo lanterns.

And then after all the rain last night we stayed home and made different types of weather silhouettes using wax crayons to colour and invisible name painting.

We used baking powder, water, tumeric and hand sanitiser .
Helping the children with their name recognition but also showing them another way of being creative using resources most will have at home as well.

A lovely week spent with our friends.

We found a story time group to attend and it was lovely seeing how confident the children felt speaking to another adult and joining in with the story’s. 📚

Made the most of the weather and spent as much time outside as we could.
Including doing our cloud binoculars. Ready for some shape spotting in the sky. ☁️⛅️🌧️

🍂 The End of Our Autumn Learning 🐿️

Over the last three weeks, we have enjoyed exploring the beautiful colours of autumn and learning about the animals that we might see during this special time of year.
The children have had lots of opportunities to explore autumn leaves, colours and textures, both indoors and outdoors. We have been noticing the changes in the environment, collecting leaves, talking about what we can see and developing our understanding of the world around us.

We have also enjoyed learning about autumn animals, sharing stories such as The Leaf Thief and Autumn Squirrel and It was a cold dark night. Listening to animal sounds and exploring how animals prepare for the changing seasons. 🦔🍁

Through our activities, the children have been developing their communication and language, physical development, understanding of the world and creative skills, while learning through play and first-hand experiences.

Looking forward to our next learning experience and activities ☺️

Yesterday, we enjoyed a lovely educational trip to the West Midlands Police Museum! 👮‍♀️🚓

The children had the opportunity to explore the museum, looking at police uniforms, old and new, equipment and learning a little about how police officers help to keep people safe.
We talked about the important role of the police and encouraged the children to ask questions, share their ideas and make connections with what they already know.

The visit provided lots of opportunities to develop our communication and language, understanding of the world and social skills, while enjoying a new and exciting experience together.
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn through real-life experiences, spark curiosity and make some lovely memories! 🌈✨

And as always the children was so well behaved, it didn’t go unnoticed and one of the lovely staff members gave all the children a little treat at the end 🥰.

Today we enjoyed a lovely morninh of exploring, learning and having fun in the sun whilst we have it 🌿😊

We headed outdoors with our visual aid clipboards, encouraging the children to look closely at the world around them and talk about what they could see, and looking for all the different coloured leaves. 🍁

We also enjoyed story time, sharing a story together and developing our listening and communication skills. 📚

Our music bag was a big hit, and we explored the sounds and activities inside. And tried to replicate our own animal sounds.
We also enjoyed using the activity cube, supporting our fine motor skills, problem-solving and concentration.

We finished by listening carefully for animal sounds, encouraging the children to use their listening skills, make connections and have fun guessing which animals they could hear. 🐿️🦔🦊

Week 3 is here and there’s no Monday blues today 🙌

📖 Storytime & Learning: We started our cozy morning by reading It Was a Cold, Dark Night, which sparked lovely conversations about woodland animals, winter, and hibernation.

🎲 Physical Development: To get moving, the little ones stretched, balanced, and practiced their gross motor skills using our interactive autumn activity cube.

🎨 Fine Motor Skills: Inspired by our story, the children worked hard on their hand-eye coordination to create some absolutely adorable hedgehog crafts.

👩‍🍳 In the Kitchen: We finished our morning activities by baking delicious apple and cinnamon hedgehog cookies. The house smelled amazing, and it was a brilliant opportunity for everyone to practice counting, measuring, and working together.

Outdoor play is always a firm favourite here. 🪾🛝

We encourage outdoor play because it supports children’s physical health, confidence, independence and wellbeing. Being outside gives children opportunities to run, climb, explore nature and develop their coordination and physical skills.

Even when we’re home, weather permitting. We use our garden as an extension for their learning where the children get to free play and bring out their imaginations 🥰.

Another big milestone and achievement for these little super stars.

Both began their toilet training during the summer holidays and even with their busy days and slight change to routine, they’ve not let it deter them.
