Nurture Activity: Cleaning Teeth

Children took part in a fun, hands-on tooth-brushing activity to support their understanding of personal hygiene and healthy routines. The children used toothbrushes to clean laminated pictures of teeth, practising brushing movements such as up and down and circular motions. This helped develop their fine motor skills and coordination while learning the importance of keeping teeth clean.

To make the activity more engaging, dinosaurs with “dirty” teeth were also provided. The children enjoyed pretending to be dentists and helping the dinosaurs clean their teeth, which encouraged imaginative play and increased their motivation to take part. Adults supported the activity by talking about why we brush our teeth, when we should brush them, and what foods are good or bad for our teeth.

The activity promoted independence, communication and language development, and supported children’s understanding of self-care and healthy living in a fun and age-appropriate way 🦷🦖
