There are many different breathing techniques that can help calm your system, but have you heard of the box breath?
This consists of a rhythm in the shape of a box. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds and hold for 4 seconds. Repeat this as many times as feels necessary. This is good to practice daily, it indicates to your brain that it is safe to be calm.
