Before heading off to secondary school, a group of our Year 6 pupils from Sutton Park Primary proudly represented the school at the Brownlee Foundation Triathlon.
Held at Handsworth Wellbeing Centre, the event gave pupils the opportunity to experience a real triathlon environment, taking on swimming, cycling and running in a fun, supportive and fully inclusive setting.
Founded by Olympic medal-winning brothers Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, the Brownlee Foundation is dedicated to inspiring primary-aged children to discover triathlon and develop a lifelong love of being active.
The event encouraged every child to challenge themselves at their own pace, building confidence, resilience and teamwork while celebrating personal achievement. For many, it was their first experience of the sport, making it an unforgettable opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and try something new.
We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who took part and embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and determination. Experiences like these help to inspire healthy lifestyles, nurture confidence and create lasting memories as our Year 6 pupils prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
