We were so excited to be visited by Becky Drake from songsforschool this week. She has written so many of our favourite hymns, and was kind enough to teach us one we hadnโ€™t sung before

Becky told us about how her faith inspires her to write joyful songs about her values, and answered lots of our questions about her music!

The children have been hard at work moving soil, cleaning, planting and watering - our newest playground zone is taking shape!

Thank you Mums for Lungs and Better Streets for Birmingham for such an informative session!

For families who couldnโ€™t make the session, we will be sharing some posters and links in this weekโ€™s newsletter ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Yesterday, our brilliant Birmingham volunteers ran a clean air workshop for parents at St Laurence Church Infant School, alongside our partners at the Birmingham Healthy Air Coalition and Better Streets for Birmingham.

It was a fantastic session, with positive discussions about air pollution and childrenโ€™s health, and it was wonderful to see the children engaging with the topic. Maya, Florence and Kirsten shared information about the impacts of air pollution on health, including asthma and other conditions, and practical steps people can take to reduce exposure and support cleaner air in their communities.

A huge thank you to headteacher Catherine Smith for the warm welcome and for creating the space for these conversations to happen.

This is what people-powered campaigning looks like. ๐Ÿ’š

What a fantastic day our Year 2 children had at the Nature Centre today! The highlights of the day were watching the otters and Aria the red panda being fed.

Throughout the trip, the children were a credit to our school, making the most of every opportunity to learn about the amazing animals and their habitats. Well done, Year 2.

Thank you to Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park for making it such a wonderful experience.
