๐ Royal Shakespeare Companyโs pilot ITT CPD course | New Vic Theatre
Our trainee teachers are back at The New Vic Theatre for the Royal Shakespeare Companyโs pilot ITT CPD course - and what an inspiring experience itโs been so far.
This incredible opportunity allows our trainees and early career teachers to develop their practice alongside RSC experts, exploring rehearsal-room approaches to teaching Shakespeare that are practical, active and genuinely transformative. From diving into language and character to collaborating through performance and discussion, the energy in the room has been fantastic.
The RSCโs approach continues to build confidence, deepen understanding and spark fresh thinking, even for those who may have felt apprehensive about teaching Shakespeare. Our trainees will also gain the RSC Foundation Certificate in Teaching Shakespeare, along with access to valuable resources, strategies and professional networks to support them at every stage of their careers.
A huge thank you to the Royal Shakespeare Company for this wonderful opportunity!โจ

๐ญโจ Exciting news for Ormiston Teacher Training! โจ๐ญ
โก๏ธ https://buff.ly/5GZMKOy
Weโre delighted to be launching a brand-new pilot programme for this academic year with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), giving our trainee teachers the opportunity to explore creative, rehearsal-based approaches to teaching Shakespeare in the classroom.
Early Career Teachers and Initial Teacher Trainees in English and drama will take part in specialist professional development using the RSCโs newly launched Shakespeare Curriculum, studying Macbeth, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet. Through practical, hands-on learning, teachers will build confidence and skills to make Shakespeare engaging, inclusive and accessible for all young people.
This programme supports high-quality arts education and helps teachers develop approaches that boost confidence, communication and creativity in students โ especially those who may find more traditional methods challenging.
