Interesting story

Mrs Mary Smith wakes the dockers of Limehouse, London, with her peashooter in 1927. A long vanished job.
When alarm clocks were unreliable and expensive, a knocker-upper was a person whose primary job it was to wake people up. In the 1930s, Mary Smith in this image earned six pence a week by shooting dry peas out of a pea shooter at the windows of employees that weren't waking up in East London. She would not leave a window until she was sure that the workers had woken up.
This very famous photograph captured by John Topham was the first he ever licensed. He sold it for five pounds (a week's wages back then) to the Daily Mirror, and decided to give up his career as a policeman and become a freelance photographer for the rest of his life.

Great to see our most recent cohort of students having completed the five days of training in London with Tony O'Shea-Poon. Looks as though they had fun!

What a fantastic bunch of participants on the Mindfulness Now Teacher Training course in Highgate, London last week. It was a privilege to teach them and to learn from them too. We had a brilliant time at the amazing Jacksons Lane Arts Centre.

Looking forward to receiving their completed assessments in due course so they can bring the joy of mindfulness to the people they will work with.

I feel so fortunate to do this work.

The next Mindfulness Teacher Training week is at Finchley, North London, between 24th and 28th October. Can't wait!

Mindfulness Based Clinical Hypnosis Diploma | Mbch The MBCH Diploma. Externally-accredited practitioner training in Mindfulness-Based hypno-psychotherapy, leading to a national qualification awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

Meerkat and Nick have had a meeting this morning (taking the social distancing advice very seriously) and have sadly taken the decision that we'll be closing to therapists and clients as from later today.
The college will still be open for business as normal (ish) although this will involve us all doing some homeworking and online work.

With all of the very serious concerns over the COVID-19 virus, our commitment is to fully adhere to the UK Government/Public Health England policy and instructions.

The well-being of our course attendees, as well as our colleagues, is our absolute priority, and you can be assured that health and safety, in each of our training venues, has our full attention.

At present our plans are to continue going ahead with all courses as per our timetable but over the forthcoming days and weeks we may well have to revise these plans and postpone courses until later in the year.

We'll keep you up to date as and when things change.

As we said on our last post, Central England College was really busy last week, with people attending CPD and course modules. Here are just a few of those happy people at the end of the week :)

Nick is a very happy bunny. Things have been a bit busy at Central England College lately! It's been lovely welcoming back so many people who were taking part in our three CPD days - Self-Directed Neuroplasticity; ACT; and Compassion Focused Therapy - as well as our Mindfulness Learning Pathway Training, AND our NLP module. The place has been buzzing (and the car park very full). Thanks everyone!

Our latest Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy module on the Hypnotherapy Diploma course has been completed by another lot of lovely students. Thanks to everyone who has attended this week. Nick and Rachel really enjoyed your company, wish you well and look forward to seeing you all again very soon. Remember to get in touch whenever you want/need to (y)

Our Mindfulness Now Teacher Training course (end of April into May) is now complete (y) and Nick, Aston and Rachel are looking forward to seeing our next cohort of students week beginning 13th May at the MAC.
Our mindfulness teacher training is our most popular course and we're now taking bookings for October and November.
