Absolutely. I’d make it punchier and more controversial, while keeping it focused on the student rather than attacking traditional schools.
She hasn’t been inside a school since she was 5.
And somehow…
She got the top grades.
She’s confident.
She’s social.
She’s thriving.
She’s not anxious about being homeschooled.
She’s not socially awkward.
She’s not “missing out”.
In fact, she knows exactly what she wants from life.
So maybe the question isn’t:
“Why isn’t she in school?”
Maybe it’s:
“Why do we assume every child has to be?”
We’re so used to believing that success means sitting in the same classroom, following the same timetable and learning in the same way as everyone else.
But children aren’t all the same.
She’s taken a completely different path and it hasn’t held her back.
If anything, it’s given her the space to become more confident, more independent and more certain about who she is and where she’s going.
Five years old was the last time she stepped into a traditional school.
Look at her now.
Maybe education doesn’t need to make children fit the system.
Maybe the system needs to start fitting the child.
