Our wonderful Great Barr nursery is expanding, and we are looking for two passionate professionals to join our under 2's team:

๐ŸŒŸ Qualified Level 3 Room Leader

Requirements: Minimum 12 months post-qualifying experience and a true passion for early years are essential. You will lead a team and nurture our littlest learners.

๐ŸŒฑ Qualified Level 3 Practitioner

Requirements: Must hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to create magical, playful experiences.

๐Ÿ Celebrating World Bee Day at Great Barr! ๐ŸŒป
Our Tweenies and preschoolers had a "buzz-tastic" time celebrating World Bee Day last week! It was a fantastic way for our little learners to discover just how important these busy insects are to our planet.

Our bee-themed highlights:
๐ŸŽจ Buzzing Crafts: The children got creative crafting their very own adorable bees using plenty of yellow and black paint and paper.

๐Ÿ”ข Count the Bees: We put our math skills to the test with a fun "count the bees" game, counting our fuzzy friends in a playful, hands-on way.

๐ŸŒฑ Flower Power: We also talked about how bees help our flowers grow and how we can look after them in our nursery garden.

Weโ€™ve had a wonderful time celebrating VE Day at Building Blocks Great Barr, last week!

Our Celebration Highlights:
๐ŸŽจ Patriotic Art: Our little artists were very busy painting beautiful Union Jack hearts, as well as crafting their own Union Jack and English flags to wave with pride!

๐Ÿฅช A Royal Tea Party: We sat down for a very special VE Day tea party, enjoying some delicious treats while learning about the importance of coming together and celebrating with friends. We even had a visit from our favourite bear... Paddington!

We are absolutely thrilled to finally unveil our incredible new garden area! It has been a total transformation, and seeing the childrenโ€™s faces as they explored the new equipment for the first time was truly priceless.

Whatโ€™s new in our outdoor wonderland?

โ›ด๏ธ Ahoy Matey! Our brand new play boat is ready for departure, sparking endless imaginative journeys.

๐Ÿณ The Mud Kitchen & Cooking Station: Our little chefs are already busy "cooking" up a storm in their cool new outdoor kitchen.

๐Ÿง— Adventure Awaits: We have a fantastic new climbing frame to help develop those all-important motor skills and confidence.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ The Construction Shed: Our new play shed is fully stocked with fun construction toys for our budding builders and engineers!

A special thank you to Charlie and Family for donating the sand and water unit, the children love it! And thank you to all who supported us at our Christmas Fayre, as your fundraising helped to buy the boat and climbing frame. It truly means the world to us and will provide years of joy and learning for the children at Great Barr.

Outdoor play is such a vital part of the EYFS curriculum, and we are so proud to have this amazing space for our children to flourish!

Weโ€™ve had a wonderful time at Building Blocks Great Barr celebrating Earth Day!

Our earthly highlights:

๐ŸŽจ Artistic Earths: The children got creative painting and making their own planet Earths, using beautiful blues and greens to represent our oceans and land.

โœจ Values of the Earth: We spent time talking about the importance of nature and how we can all be "Earth Superheroes" by recycling and caring for plants and animals.

๐ŸŒ Sensory Fun: From exploring natural materials to Earth-themed crafts, our activities helped the children connect with the world around them.

Weโ€™ve had a brilliant day at Building Blocks Great Barr celebrating St. Georgeโ€™s Day! The nursery was filled with red and white as we explored English traditions together.

Our festive highlights:

๐ŸŽจ Flying the Flag: The children got creative making their very own English flags, practicing their fine motor skills while learning about the Cross of St. George.

๐Ÿฆ England-Themed Fun: Weโ€™ve had a "whole load" of activities to get everyone involved and into the spirit early in time for the World Cup! โšฝ

๐Ÿ“œ A Little History: Saint George was a 3rd-century Roman soldier of Cappadocian and Palestinian origin, who became a revered Christian martyr after defying Emperor Diocletianโ€™s persecution of Christians.

๐Ÿก A Bright Future: We are happy to share that our ducks are being looked after by a professional and have a wonderful forever home waiting for them.

We had a fantastic visit from Rhythm Time, an great organisation who create joyful, developmental musical experiences for children.

Our musical highlights:

๐ŸŽธ Instrument Play: Exploring different sounds and rhythms with a variety of instruments.
๐ŸŽผ Musical Signs: Our older children did a brilliant job learning to read and understand musical signs.

These sessions perfectly support early development, sparking a love for learning through melody and movement!

Our nursery has been transformed into a spring wonderland as we celebrated Easter with a week full of discovery and joy! The children have been busy embracing the new season through a variety of hands-on activities.

Our Easter highlights:

๐ŸŒฑ Little Gardeners: To celebrate new life and growth, the children have been planting beautiful flowers, learning what plants need to flourish as they grow.

๐Ÿฅš The Great Egg Hunt: There were plenty of smiles as our little explorers searched high and low to find hidden eggs tucked away around the nursery.

๐ŸŽจ Easter Invitations to Learning: From themed sensory bins to creative crafts, the children engaged in a "whole load" of activities designed to spark their imagination and fine motor skills.
