🌟 Qualified Level 3 Room Leader

Requirements: Minimum 12 months post-qualifying experience and a true passion for early years are essential. You will lead a team and nurture our littlest learners.

🌱 Qualified Level 3 Practitioner

Requirements: Must hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to create magical, playful experiences.

🐝 Celebrating World Bee Day at Great Barr! 🌻
Our Tweenies and preschoolers had a "buzz-tastic" time celebrating World Bee Day last week! It was a fantastic way for our little learners to discover just how important these busy insects are to our planet.

Our bee-themed highlights:
🎨 Buzzing Crafts: The children got creative crafting their very own adorable bees using plenty of yellow and black paint and paper.

🔢 Count the Bees: We put our math skills to the test with a fun "count the bees" game, counting our fuzzy friends in a playful, hands-on way.

🌱 Flower Power: We also talked about how bees help our flowers grow and how we can look after them in our nursery garden.

🇬🇧 VE Day Tea Party at Great Barr! ☕🍰
We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating VE Day at Building Blocks Great Barr, last week!

Our Celebration Highlights:
🎨 Patriotic Art: Our little artists were very busy painting beautiful Union Jack hearts, as well as crafting their own Union Jack and English flags to wave with pride!

🥪 A Royal Tea Party: We sat down for a very special VE Day tea party, enjoying some delicious treats while learning about the importance of coming together and celebrating with friends. We even had a visit from our favourite bear... Paddington!

🌳 Big News: Our Brand New Garden is Open at Great Barr! 🚀
We are absolutely thrilled to finally unveil our incredible new garden area! It has been a total transformation, and seeing the children’s faces as they explored the new equipment for the first time was truly priceless.

What’s new in our outdoor wonderland?

⛴️ Ahoy Matey! Our brand new play boat is ready for departure, sparking endless imaginative journeys.

🍳 The Mud Kitchen & Cooking Station: Our little chefs are already busy "cooking" up a storm in their cool new outdoor kitchen.

🧗 Adventure Awaits: We have a fantastic new climbing frame to help develop those all-important motor skills and confidence.

🛠️ The Construction Shed: Our new play shed is fully stocked with fun construction toys for our budding builders and engineers!

A special thank you to Charlie and Family for donating the sand and water unit, the children love it! And thank you to all who supported us at our Christmas Fayre, as your fundraising helped to buy the boat and climbing frame. It truly means the world to us and will provide years of joy and learning for the children at Great Barr.

Outdoor play is such a vital part of the EYFS curriculum, and we are so proud to have this amazing space for our children to flourish!

We’ve had a wonderful time at Building Blocks Great Barr celebrating Earth Day!

Our earthly highlights:

🎨 Artistic Earths: The children got creative painting and making their own planet Earths, using beautiful blues and greens to represent our oceans and land.

✨ Values of the Earth: We spent time talking about the importance of nature and how we can all be "Earth Superheroes" by recycling and caring for plants and animals.

🌍 Sensory Fun: From exploring natural materials to Earth-themed crafts, our activities helped the children connect with the world around them.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Celebrating St. George’s Day at Great Barr! 🐉
We’ve had a brilliant day at Building Blocks Great Barr celebrating St. George’s Day! The nursery was filled with red and white as we explored English traditions together.

Our festive highlights:

🎨 Flying the Flag: The children got creative making their very own English flags, practicing their fine motor skills while learning about the Cross of St. George.

🦁 England-Themed Fun: We’ve had a "whole load" of activities to get everyone involved and into the spirit early in time for the World Cup! ⚽

📜 A Little History: Saint George was a 3rd-century Roman soldier of Cappadocian and Palestinian origin, who became a revered Christian martyr after defying Emperor Diocletian’s persecution of Christians.

We have some quacking new arrivals at Building Blocks Nursery Great Barr. Introducing: Gary, Bluey, and Lucas.

Our highlights:

🌏 New Discoveries: The children have been fascinated watching the ducklings take their very first steps and explore their new world.

🔍 Life Cycles: This was a wonderful, hands-on way for our little learners to see a life cycle in action, from egg to duckling!

🏡 A Bright Future: We are happy to share that our ducks are being looked after by a professional and have a wonderful forever home waiting for them.

It’s been a magical week of discovery and gentle care at the nursery! 💛

🎶 Musical Magic at Great Barr with Rhythm Time! 🥁
We had a fantastic visit from Rhythm Time, an great organisation who create joyful, developmental musical experiences for children.

Our musical highlights:
🎤 Singing Together: The children built confidence and vocal skills through fun, interactive songs.
🎸 Instrument Play: Exploring different sounds and rhythms with a variety of instruments.
🎼 Musical Signs: Our older children did a brilliant job learning to read and understand musical signs.

These sessions perfectly support early development, sparking a love for learning through melody and movement!

💙 Celebrating Autism Awareness at Great Barr! 🌈

Last week, we joined together at Building Blocks Great Barr to celebrate and raise awareness for World Autism Day. It was a wonderful opportunity for our staff and children to celebrate the uniqueness of others, and learn that it's okay to be different ❤️🧡

Our nursery has been transformed into a spring wonderland as we celebrated Easter with a week full of discovery and joy! The children have been busy embracing the new season through a variety of hands-on activities.

Our Easter highlights:

🌱 Little Gardeners: To celebrate new life and growth, the children have been planting beautiful flowers, learning what plants need to flourish as they grow.

🥚 The Great Egg Hunt: There were plenty of smiles as our little explorers searched high and low to find hidden eggs tucked away around the nursery.

🎨 Easter Invitations to Learning: From themed sensory bins to creative crafts, the children engaged in a "whole load" of activities designed to spark their imagination and fine motor skills.
